This is mine MT10 YAMAHA, naked R1 . 165hp to the rear wheel , bike is totally insane. Sometimes when I ride it, I am absolutely amazed that you can actually go to the dealership and buy something so insane like this and take it home! And they will sell it to anybody too!
Those are badass, my buddy was trying to talk me into one instead of my FZ07. Reason why I went with the FZ07 was because it felt really similar to a dirtbike to me and was way cheaper, also dig the sound. Those MT10 are so badass though, definitely want one.

I had a Kawasaki GPZ 550 in college. Went to a school in a very rural part of the state. Heading thru downtown out of town, 35mph, this lady pulls up to the 2 way stop sign, she looks both ways, for whatever reason I could just tell she was going to pull out, I left off of the gas and got on the brakes, she looked right at me, we locked eyes...she pulled out. Being on the binders I didn't hit her, but had I not had the sixth sense that she was going to pull out, I would have T boned her. Scared the shit out of me and sold the bike the next weekend. I want a super moto so bad to ride to work, but every time I look, her face appears in my mind and I quit looking. Add to the fact that I have hit 4 deer with my car in the last 20 years.

I have a buddy who rides and had a motard. He sold it after he realized how stupid he was being on it when he turned around to "hit the railroad tracks one more time" on his way home from work....

I intend to get an ADV bike, or some slow-ass HD. I love this bike, but it just encourages bad behavior from my right wrist. I am getting old.

Good luck with that.

I had a Honda 919 for a couple years. Loved the bike. First year was great but somewhere in the second year I realized that too many times when I rode it, I did not keep it under 100 - it would just do it so easily and my restraint was poor. Pass a car, hold it WFO for a few seconds and boom triple digits. And in the overall scheme of things, that bike wasn't even all that fast.

Granted, I do live in a pretty rural area and probably the biggest danger was from a deer running out in front of me. Not sure if I'd have any street bike if I lived in a big city.

Anyway, riding a fast street bike like it is a dirt bike for the road, is fun, but probably not the best for life expectancy. So sold the 919 & bought a mellow V-Star. Told the guy who bought it before the test ride, 'bet you can't keep it under 100'. He came back with a big smile on his face, said 'you were right' and started getting out the cash.

So maybe have some restraint on engine size.

And yes, assume everything on the road that can get you killed, is going to try to.
This is all great advice. Thanks guys. Maybe i should just pick up a new yz450. I don't think there are any tracks within an hour of the city though unfortunately.

I'm on my fourth street bike first one was a 1980 kz750 around1983. Love that bike but yes like others have said you have to use discretion depending on your age should matter.

I was in my early twenties and was lucky to survive those years riding dirt bikes definitely helps as I can't imagine learning to ride a motorcycle on the street.

I'm not really into the full naked street bike scene this is what I have a 01 FZ1 it's my second one and I absolutely love it believe it or not the quarter fairing definitely helps especially on long road trips.

Will you be riding any passengers that should also fit into the equation. Some of the passenger seats they put on the sport bikes are absolute joke and the passenger is sitting about a foot-above you with hardly any seat.

No passengers and no daily commuting. Just riding for fun by myself on the weekends.

I got a Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 that I have to ride more this year or I'm getting rid of it. Best friend sold his bike and as you guys know it's not as fun riding around alone. Met some new people over the winter that ride so hopefully we'll get some miles in Cool

I love being able to go for a ride with my wife. She loves riding her Indian and I got my Harley the way I want now. I have a Harley, but am definitely not a "Harley Guy". haha

That’s a sick street glide dude. Love the numbers on the bags!

I live in Minnesota and the rule here is only if it’s above 35 degrees. Funny how adaptable the human body is.
Minnesota here, as well. Note the date:

Are those yours? Do you have anymore pics of that 350? That bike is mint and is one of my all time favourates.
I actually bought the RD350 brand new. Been through a couple restorations. I am more of a "restomod" kind of guy. I do ride the crap out of them.

Those are great bikes. I had one for a short time, but it was a lot of fun.
