This got me thinking. On face value yes CF would be stiffer, more rigid. But from what I’m finding on the internet it depends on the type of CF as to how much more rigid and also the comparisons are by weight (an equal weight CF engine mount would be roughly twice the size/thickness of Aluminum).

A company like CMT claims MORE flexibility over aluminum, which could be nice on a stiff chassis like Honda. The thickness could be less than stock, so this seems possible.

I've done extensive testing with factory teams on CF engine mounts. Very minimal change in flex...they are looking more for saving weight. They were breaking at as soon as 6 hours in some cases. These PC units are where its at.

Dude, your stuff looks mint! You’re obviously damn good at making molds. Nice!

We made mounts for the KTM looking for specific “feel” for a variety of riders. The best feedback we got was from Baggett who wanted stiffer...yes, stiffer. Those mounts are what we call our A4/A5 mounts. To me, they deliver a more precise feel of the front end and what the front tire is doing. I say it like this, I feel more connected to what the front tire is doing.

For off-road riders, we went after the EXC chassis feel for the SX-F/XC-F guys that wanted that more forgiving feel. Those are our A1-A3 mounts.

We haven’t broken any mounts. We have a few sets with over 60 hours on them. The set pictured on the GasGas actually have 10 hours on them.

If you ever need any 3K or 12K, drop me a note and we’ll figure out a way to get some to you. I’m kinda nutty about keeping plenty of material around. I learned that lesson the hard-way when material got scarce during the early 787 build up.

Ya know, just as I was gearing up to start marketing our own goodies...The Zombie Apocolypse hit. At first we thought we were gonna have to close down for a while; but, over a period of about 3 weeks...we went from preparing to shut down to needing to make more product than we normaly would. It's been crazy!

So...now...I'm cautiously getting back to it.
