I was cruising around google maps today and came across this! I'm not from the area, so have no idea what this is. It almost looks like an automotive test facility where they could test top speed and road handling, which would make sense as to why it's in the middle on nowhere. Looks like the closest major city is California City. The interesting part is what looks to be an abandoned supercross and motocross track. What's the story with this place, is it still in operation, is it a factory test facility for someone like Honda who makes cars and bikes, or did I just stumble upon the Area 51 of moto?
Thanks for any info, you can imagine how surprised i was when i found it, I'm just curious as to the back story.

Within the Company, the different divisions have to cover the expenses of their own test facilities. In this case, American Honda's motorcycle division was on the hook for a lot of $$$ that they haven't had since the Moto-Market-Collapse of '07/'08...
I've seen the car guys out there; but, I haven't seen Moto folks out there...in years.
I think they've had it up for sale since '11 and the bike guys haven't used it since...'10?
