Anyone have a line on a clean (rust free) Chevy express or Gmc Savana cage van with a v8? Been trying to find a way to buy retired fleet from one of the bigger telecommunication companies. Finding one in my area is near impossible, rusted out or scams.

No diesels.

Don't buy anything from Penske. The company I work with has a bunch of highway trucks that they (full maintenance) lease from Penske, and the maintenance program is so bad it's almost unbelievable. It should be illegal, but anything to save a buck to Penske. I'm amazed that they don't completely fall apart but somehow they keep going. I pity the poor bastards who end up with these things once the lease is up and they get sold off to unsuspecting buyers who think that getting a "fleet maintained" vehicle is a good thing.

I second this. Friend of mine purchased one of their “frequently serviced” rigs, it lasted all of 56 miles.....
2100 bucks later, it lasted another 4 months. Died on the way home from the Branson race, he sold it for salvage.

I have one, a 2008 Chevy Express Extended Cab, so it is the longer of the vans. It still has my Laser Skirmish business logo on it and will need a paint job as for some reason the white paint on the front of the van has literally peeled off in some spots.

We did not put a lot of miles on it and well taken care of. It is basic though, hand crank windows on the doors, and a basic radio. Cargo divider between the cab and cargo area with a locking door. The rear doors have two windows with a cage on over them on the inside. No other windows.

Was going to use it as a trade in, if you want to see pictures PM me and I will send some to you.

Stay away from the pre-2012 GM vans. Transmissions are junk.
Lean to the E-250 Extended Fords.

This is just not true. A well maintained 4l60e or 4l80e will go over 200k without an issue.

Hijacking the thread as I need to buy a pick-up or van to haul the bike. Needs to be in SoCal, have at least 5 seats and price less than 6000 usd. I pay cash (and if the deal is good enough I can produce a cool riding video or photos of you riding Wink . Send PM or text 3two3 50four 42one3

Yup. We’ve gotten 400+. If you’re going to tow a lot YMMV.
