get the cr and the tm

That is a '74 TM. TM's were not so hot. The 125 was good in '75, but that's about it. And though the '79 CR was/is popular, they were marginal at best,IMO.

BIG $$$$ GETS SPENT WORLD WIDE ON VMX.
SOME 20-30YEAR OLD BIKES ARE WORTH MORE THAN ANY NEW 450 IN AUSTRALIA..

That TM 100 is getting quite popular and pricey with the 100cc vintage classes gaining steam these days. While "vintage" mx (74 and older models) may be slowing , the evolution classes (75 and newer) is taking up any slack. There is still a lot of both going on these days. That broken down 79 CR250 as shitty as it looks will still bring more than a broken down 98 YZ400F any day of the week.

Exactly, and I love the evolution classes and all the trick reproduction "works" parts that are available for those bikes. That 79, is my dream vintage racer, (bought one brand new in 79 for $1100.00) with the Fox Air shox, a set of Fox Factory or Simons forks, and maybe a trick Fox Factory swingarm.

I would have to agree that the Evo (post 75) is alive and very well, even in this economy.

I believe that Mr. Newmann has a project that when he shows it, it will floor a lot of folks. I have seen a little of it and it is going to be a bad mofo.

Good to see the vintage stuff gettin some luv in the main forum rather than just over in "old school". Certainly not everyone is into it but the following is strong especially among the more "mature" moto crowd, its a great way to relive the history and flavor of the early days of the sport, especially if you participated in them.

That CR is desirable for sure but I think the 80 was the better one? The 100's are neat and some guys fix em up but a 195 lb 50 year old aint really gonna get much fun out of one I dont think, still a cool bike and I wanted one bad when i was 12.
mx;maniac,
Nice 490 maico and 495 KTM, I have the same graphics on my '81.

Nice Maico!

Is it yours? If not have you taken it for a romp on the track?

A well tuned 490 is as fast a new 450 any day!

Vintage is dead? Vintage bikes pull the best looking chicks. You think Erin would stop and take a pic with your 08 model 450F? I don't think so!!
