Anyone heard of this issue? Ktm 350-19

My cousin had some bad luck this weekend, the three bolts holding the ignition let go and the bike started to misfire, so they checked all the fuses but didnt remove the ignition cover (how often do you do that anyway?).

The metal shavings made the oilpump break, and the engine was ran dry..

Never heard of the stator coming loose. I've heard of shavings from other problems starting the top of oil. Bummer deal!

I had the stator come loose in a 2010 450 KTM back when it was almost new. Never understood how that happened, and have never seen it happen again before now.

same thing happened to my buddies 19 350 sxf and a few years ago his sx125 stator bolts fell out

They already have it on them. I couldn’t budge mine to save my life when I went to swap ignition covers on my ‘18 350 build. I ended up buying a different stator because it was easier!
