Expected that to be 10 times worse.

Sure looks that way...

...and Barcia got DQ'd for it? That's bullshit.

For the record...I'm a fan of both Barcia and Ferrandis...

Not as bad as they made it out to be but he did go off track and when he did he grabbed a handful of throttle which you cant do. Barcia should have slowed up and would have never contacted DF. 100% did not "T-Bone" him but again it was aggressive and unneeded.
He didn't grab a handful. He bounced off the dirt pile and was halfway to the berm when he landed.

As funny as that statement is.....it's true.

Look how quick the pitchfork brigade came out to hang him for the season over this.

Couple of takeaways from the video:

1) I understand the GoPro off the helmet rule for safety but damn, the numberplate view sucks.

2) People need to learn the difference between responsibility and fault. If Barcia pushes, you wide and contacts you hard enough that you are laying on the ground he is responsible for that crash. If after watching how Bam races for the past 13 years, you try to pass him on the outside without clearly being past him it's your fault that you're lying on the ground.

I mean it is kinda funny but... I would say the dash cam rolling has more to do with the GoPro logos on the bike and semi.

Barcia ain't the only TLD guy running one 24/7....they all do.

Yes you can hear him rev it....., while he's in the air, just like he revs it in the air over every jump, but he lets off right before landing and doesn't gas it again until he's in the berm.

Show me video of Barcia jumping ANYTHING at Budds where he doesn't at least blip the throttle in the air.

Not sure the video exonerates Barcia. Ferrandis appears to run him wide, and Barcia reacts by taking a very unconventional line reentering the track. AMA likely viewed it as retaliatory versus racing and issued the DQ.

Another angle might tell a different story. Let’s face it, Barcia only releases the footage if he thinks it was “just racing”. Which might be believable if not for his long history of “just racing” moments.

Can’t believe Ferrandis made a post crying about that.
He had run ins with Barcia in moto 1 and Unadilla moto 2 as well, I guess that's why he was just fed up with the guy. But yeah expected it to be much worse than what it was

That's it???? Shit I been hit harder than that at Chicken Licks raceway in the 50+ Novice class. But Vitards make it 6 pages of slobber, drool, and pitch forks. Wonder what will bunch the panties up next week?

Barcia goes off the track on the inside, aims for the exit of the corner on the outside and then pins it.

He was going to make contact with Ferrandis no matter what, but I don't think he expected Ferrandis to have the wheel on him and run into him. I believe Barcia just wanted to block the whole Track to keep Ferrandis behind.

Video shows it all clear as day, anyways. If that is your mindset and you take someone out doing it, you deserve to be DQd.

Well... That wasn't anywhere near as bad as it sounded and fair play to them for releasing the video.

I get tempers running high makes you mad and maybe it felt different or there's still a slight translation deficit or whatever else, and Barcia was outside track limits, but a DQ for it does seem a little harsh now the video is out there. Then again, if you have these things happen constantly then you're gonna get pulled up on it.

But if you're an official, you have to go off of what information you have and with what we have, would you be for the DQ?

I guess it's possible, but it sure seems like he's just coasting for an awfully long time until Ferrandis flashes into the picture.

I mean ferrandis clearly has a wheel on him on the first pass, Barcia doesn't really shut off and goes off track. Then Barcia cuts the inside of the next turn and tbones the guy who didn't cut the inside of the turn. I can see how Dylan is mad. I can also see how Barcia can say he was just pushed off and contact happened when he entered...

But he did cut the inside of the turn, which gave him the advantage to be able to cut off Dylans line. 🤷‍♀️

Hard to know intent... But his reputation probably didn't help

I'm not seeing this the same way as most of the other people here, to me it looks like Barcia had his line taken away, went off track to avoid going down but gained an advantage and just tried getting to the corner ASAP not to necessarily take Ferrandis down but block him and keep him behind him. He should have slowed up and let Dylan by but he kept racing like he didn't just go off the track.

I think a DQ is too far considering it was like 1/100th as egregious as Malcolm's move on Anderson at Daytona but I'm definitely not ok with that move.

Actually I just went back and watched it again and it looks like Barcia might have been going for the kill on Ferrandis. Hard to tell with that angle but it looks like he could've slowed up enough to make it look like he was going to let Dylan by but then gasses it at the last second to T-bone him. Again hard to tell with that camera angle.

I wonder what the AMA based their DQ based off? Video? Ref physically see the incident? Did Star complain to AMA? Looks like 2 Pro MX racers fighting for position….as others have stated, passing on the outside, you better have a wheel on the the guy… still think we need another view…. Someone has to have a 3rd party view….. does not look nowhere near the move Df14 put on Craig in SX….

How many of you belive that it would have been the same outcome if it were Tomac, Roczen, Sexton or Dungey that Ferrandis passed there?

I can stick my neck out and say that all of them would have braked and made what they could to avoid this situation, Barcia? Nope…

Yep, they all would slow down. Barcia going for the point$ baby lol
This wasn't nearly as bad as Ferandis and everyone else said. Ferandis bumped him off the track so Barcia bumped him off his bike lmao

You lose all credibility when you say it was a "tbone"
