When I was a kid around 2002 I got a sponsor from NCY Yamaha for only 15% off on parts but since then no one has offered me any breaks.

I know most of us on here are spending a lot of money every year on parts. Have you guys had any deals for parts? How much were you racing and how did you come into it?

Even 10% off somewhere would help out a lot or probably just make me want more parts and to ride more and spend more money.

Honestly though, be loyal to your local dealer and organically promote them on social media and in your daily life. Encourage your network of friends to shop there as well, the dealer will pick up on it and give you a break.

Most dealers, some don’t give any fucks.

Any dealer I buy from gives me at least 15% off or more.

I would just use Hookit and MX Sponsor.
I get anywhere from 35% to 50% off and it helps a lot.
I get 35% on Gaerne SG 12 boots through MX Sponsor and that helps.

No offense man but 15% off is not considered a sponsorship.

What I was thinking. One dude said he got +15% retail 😂. A true sponsorship imo is getting something free or having to return it (bike) at the end of a race/series/year. Most shops do a cost + _%. So they don't loose money.

Rmatvmc, Pulp codes, eBay, and the for sale / bazaar section of the forum. Really just whoever has a good deal.

I’ll go to my local parts shop occasionally for some small stuff and to get nitrogen refills.

It also doesn’t hurt to call a place or send in a resume. I called the guy at arc, bob I believe is his name, and he gave me 10 or 20 percent off a set of levers and a free set of slipper clamps. Month or so later I pleaded my case to the guy who runs Motool and he gave me the Black Friday deal on a digital sag scale.

40% on gear. Only “sponsorship” I’ve really tried for and had it last 2 years. Takes a little

I’m a broke 18 year old c rider who doesn’t have anyone to help set sag. Lol. And I missed out on the black Friday deal.

Mate, there is no free ride in moto. Support your locale dealer.
Ride your bike.Buy your parts from the same dealer. Don’t bad mouth them. Get to know them. Don’t expect anything. Wear their T’shirt. Then maybe they may help you.

When my local dealer starts supporting the local racing, I will start to represent them. As far as that the dealer couldn't tell you a damn thing about the races and has never promoted a race since I can remember. So F that guy.

Sponsorship finds those that are prepared to work for it... the last bikes I paid for to race, were dealer supplied, in 2002 and 2003, on the off weekends I worked sales, he held the bikes on stock , and at the end of the year I paid used price.

Since then I have not raced a bike I owned , from 2006 to 2019.. helped to run teams for a ride, done development, and then just hooked up with a really good guy who loves to build stuff, more than ride it.

Top tip , don't run round in a $30k pick up and say you don't have money to race,

My daily drive has been a £500 clunker for as long as I can remember , and the RV is almost 20 years old.

If your signing the front of checks... You are a discounted customer. Once you start signing the backs... then you are sponsored.

I have a full ride sponsorship. I go to this place for 45-60 hours a week and every other week they cut me a check. They pay for everything i need. House, food, truck bikes and gear.

Piece of black tape on your fender, helper not needed. My 1st 2 races I didn’t know about tear offs. If someone said tear offs, I thought they where talking about tearing fenders off.Smile I just showed up to have fun and race a cool track. A 3rd in the 90,s You got quarts of trans oil, goggles, inner tube, etc. A shop would have a trailer at the race, just hang out, have fun. Buy a tire from them, put a hole in the tube on your 1st tire change . They,ll give a deal on a tube or even free.

All food deliveries use lumpers, we have to pay them 400.00 or more to unload the trailer. With a check, that amount comes out of our check. Until bol and receipts are scanned, after delivery. Stone Age I know.

Agreed. So many people I know talk about how dirtbikes must be so expensive and how in the hell do I afford doing it every weekend?

I ride around in my 98 Silverado that I paid $3400 for, that’s how Cool

To me, nothing’s cooler than riding around in a somewhat beater/older truck, and having a brand new bike in the back Wink

I was sponsored by an actual track for a while. Had to run stickers on my bike and do a few other things, but I got to practice for free while the sponsorship lasted. I think it was for a year and then they sponsored another group of riders, but it was a big help! Might be worth a shot to ask, but who knows if they do stuff like this anymore...
