Good work ethic, very fast, great family. From Canada (born in Scotland) He has been down here for the last 5-6 years I think, he will go somewhere.

The kids favorite hobby is "road biking".....which means he can probably do about 8 - 45 min motos back to back. I have seen his name pop up around the AM stuff too.....any info on if he's doing all ( or some of ) the nationals?

Dean is a hard working athlete with a great internal desire to be the best. His father is one of the reasons for his success, he assists Dean with poistive direction.
With the proper professional direction and team association he will rise to the elite status.

I hung out with his Cousin who works for a Canadian Mag, MXP about a year and a half ago, he was saying how good this kid was going to be, I started paying attention to his results and wow they were right , this kid hauls the mail.

Nice try Bobby.
My plate is full right now.

I'm going to start every post with:

"THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION"

This should help.
Talk to you later.

Cool, hopefully he keeps his head on straight and makes it in the big leagues. I just know that he has beaten Taylor Futrell our home town boy, so he must be pretty fast.

There's alot of talent coming up. This kid and others might fall through the cracks. Theres usually only room for 2 heavy hitters that move up to the bigs every yr. If I remember right Ansti has beaten Wilson a few times. These are races this kid can not afford to ever lose. The margin from making it and not making it is very small these days.

We could do that as kids. Why? Because all anyone did back then was ride. All day, every day. Till dark.

Riding a bike? Nobody I know had one. We all rode our dirt bikes places.

There are races that will not go your way for different reasons. The amateur scenario is just that, a learning experience to move up. Building amateur wins will catch the eye of the powers to be but in the end it won't matter if you adjust your program to winning at the SX and National level.

Yep, been covering him his entire amateur career and he is tearing it up this year, for sure. Last year he was the top B rider in the country.

Check this issue out by clicking on the cover below, not only is Dean on the cover but part of a feature showing the fastest Canadians ever are competing in the amateur ranks this year.

It's definitely a good year for Canada.

I saw Dean do 4 25+2lap motos at GH for the 4 stroke national a few weeks ago. Hes strong endurance wise.

From what ive heard his plans are to stay A and ride A and ProSport. Do some Canadian nationals and probably come in after Lorettas. Thats just what ive heard I dont know the kid personally to answer it though.

well....i don't know how long you have been around MX , but waaaay back when i was a kid his age , we didn't ride bikes OR anything else to get into race shape. The kids now days are training at the age of friggin' 5yrs old. What i'm trying to say is , is he's cross training , which we weren't at his age , we we're doing it for fun. And believe me , the older you get , the harder you have to train....it doesn't come naturally any more....at least for me it doesn't.

He races at REM on a regular basis.

His name isn't as well known as some other's, but he has been crushing better known riders for years. He is going to rock when he turns pro!

if barcia wasn't turning pro at glen helen then you would of wilson battling with him every national and maybe taking wins away from barcia. i really cant wait to see what wilson can do when he turns pro at unadilla.

He can qualify for team great britain at the des nations someday right ?

It seems it has been a few years since someone was completely dominating the amateur nationals prior to turning pro. Seems recently it's been more of a battle at the top.
