Any word on the 2019 Suzuki RMZ 450?

Hoping they go electric start and can remove some weight and fix the balance of the bike. Still think the 18's are the best looking bike!

Small refinements. 250 gets all the attention this year. The 2018 is awesome by the way, if you haven't ridden one you should. Vortex ignition and some small mods and it's on point.

That place is the only place I've ever seen actually promote a out the door price on cycle trader, wish you could only search those dealers that do advertise the OTD.

... and the only bike without people bitching about battery and starter issues. Just say'in. Not that I think electric start is a bad thing. Been all about electric leg since my first in 03.

Not much lighter is all reality. Kickstarter, kickstart gears, larger engine cases add up a bit...

I’d take the extra 2lbs to not have to kick a bike, any day of the week.

The Suzuki RM-Z450 is the heaviest bike in the class for 2019 and the only kickstart bike...KTM designed their engine and layout around it...right now they've only taken on about two pounds at most with e-start only. But they're around 15lbs lighter than the RM-Z with a full tank of fuel (and the KTM holds more fuel).

You’d pay way more to make that RM-Z450 15lbs lighter...which according to someone from RCH two years ago, they couldn’t get their race bikes as light as a stock KTM.

Wow I really thought they’d have electric start at the least. Especially after hearing Chris Wheelers podcasts. He made it sound like they were close to having it. ML what is up with Suzuki anyway? I mean why did they pull out of all the racing series except USA?

I heard that also but ML asked suzuki at the 2018 release if they would add a lighter engine with estart to the new frame at some point. They told him maybe 2019 but probably 2020. It was in a thread from late last year.

If you heard Chris Wheelers podacasts he made it seem like it was coming in 2019 as he said they ran out of time for 2018. Disappointing!!! I really don’t care if they’re KTM light as IMHO reliablitiy loses with being too light, but all the Japanese models could be lighter.

After owning a husky I dont like elec start anymore. Takes 1 milisecond to kick the bike. When the elec start dies ur fuucked. I had it flood and you only get like like 1 mins 30 tops of trying to start before the batt is dead. Plus it dies if it sits a few weeks n u need the trickle charger. I can see it for racing if u stall but for a regular dude its a pain in de nutsaq.

I just meant electric start, no comment on a lighter engine. And to be precise I was told 2020 or 2021.
