Collarbone or dislocated shoulder?
|

Looked like neither. Look like he rolled his head under him. He was pointing at his neck. They were checking his vertebrae track side. Atleast that is what I saw.

To me it looked like he was pointing at his collarbone. Hopefully it was just a collarbone and nothing more serious.

separated shoulder or broken clavicle

Must be collarbone for sure. Holding his shoulder when he walked off the track and they pulled his helmet off so he must be somewhat okay.

I'd imagine he has to be out for awhile. It was a fairly minor fall and he didn't return. Wasn't Dungey's similar last year? And look how that turned out.

When they put him on the mule he was in a neck collar so I'm hoping it was just precationary. Looked to be in a lot of pain however.

He was holding the back of his neck when I saw him.

It's not a collarbone. His arm was not outstretched when he fell. The collarbone breaks when some one falls with their arm stretched out, where the force travels up through the arm to the collarbone that then breaks.

I've broken my collarbone when my arm wasn't out.

Total fake news. You simply can't state that as fact because its not true. I shattered my right in the exact wreck as AP. Drove my shoulder directly into to the ground on a mild high side and broke it into 4 pieces. As far as the neck goes.....I hope its just collar bone causing pain in his neck. When I shattered my right, a section of the bone fragment was sticking me in the neck. It felt like damage to my neck cause I was having a hard time turning my head, but luckily found all of it was collarbone related. Still a bummer to see.....AP is just a great kid.

Not true, I broke my collarbone in two places landing shoulder first into the face of a jump.

I hope AP is ok and if anything that it IS just his collarbone.

It looks like it could have been hyperextension of his neck, he might have fractured something. If yes, this is a crash where I could see the neck brace companies wanting to chime in and claim their neck braces would have prevented this (chin snapping into chest).

Usually your helmet will break your collarbone.

This is true. Broke my left one 4 times and my right once. The edge of your helmet pushed down into it. The leverage from the top of your helmet makes it easy. I've been told by more than one dr that it only takes around 7lbs of pressure to snap it. Last one broke right where my Leatte rests on your shoulder. When I put my brace on you could see the break lined up exactly with the edge of the brace. Maybe an out stretched arm can break it also but it is definitely not the only way.

Broken my right collar collar bone twice. Both times from the bottom edge of my helmet when I hit the ground. Not from my arm being stretched out

AP posted on his IG that he got a concussion and has a sore neck but should be good to go for Millville.
