Any old school BMXers here?

I've been doing a 2003 CR250 bike build (no thread started yet in the bike build forum) and was trying to think of some cool retro style graphics like the modern day elsinores that Throttle Jockey does with silver plastic or Team Peak graphics on modern day bikes but wanted to do something that wasnt already done or at least that i haven't seen yet.

During the mid-80s i thought the Factory Zeronine gear, numbers, bikes and stickers were the shit and it got to wondering if doing some Zeronine style graphics on a modern motocross bike would be cool or if it would be one of those things that looks alright at first glance but then just starts looking more and more stupid every time you see it.

Would appreciate anyone's thoughts good, bad or indifferent especially if you remember Zeronine and/or raced any BMX back in the NBL "War of the Stars" days.... sorry being from Ohio the NBL ruled that neck of the woods and even though I raced a bunch of different tracks and states along the eastern seaboard i never raced a single ABA race ever.

Funny you bring this up. Pork Chop BMX just rereleased the Zeronine number plates last week.

think this was crazy Ronnie Andersons's...your graphics letters need to be bolder.

Yeah 09! or Zero-NIN as some kids called it...maybe throw in a REVCORE logo it just seems more MX appropriate.
Looks like you're from You-n-Gs-town my buddy Bob is from there, did ever hear about the firewor- factory explosion there in the earky 80s?

Now you got me thinking! I’d love to combine this uniform with my 125 somehow! At very least, some powerlite decals and bar pad....hmmmm

Here's something amusing, in order to replicate the Zeronine logo(which I happen to think is one of the top 3 BMX logos of all time along with Haro and the original Bicycle Motocross Action logo) perfectly you'd probably want the graphics printed on a Gerber which prints with a film. The number one aftermarket supplier of Gerber films.......Zeronine. They've always been around but Owen has done Gerber films for the last 25 years. Yes I know there are some newer printers that can hit those colors but it didn't fit in with my story.

Old NBL’er here as well as USBA. Zeronine was the shit but I couldn’t afford it. Ran my trusty ole Haro B1B with the press on numbers. Love me some BMX still

I actually had a revcore that I custom built by saving up money cutting lawns. I even had a zeronine plate on it lol.

I never got to race but I had two tracks to practice on. I owned a Ross, Mongoose Supergoose, and SE Racing PK Ripper. Sadly I don’t know what happened to the PK Ripper, I would love to have it now.

I had a blue PK Ripper - landing gear forks, uni-seat, and z-rims. We rode at a place in Mission Viejo some called “the dips” or “the glen” around 81’, 82’, 83’. There would be 75+ kids there riding on the weekends. I kept the bike a long time into adulthood and sold it on eBay about 8 years ago.....wish I hadn’t.

stopped riding once the NBL went down, miss those days. Something super kool about BMX and the old days.
