Getting to be that time of year. Forks, shock, engine, frame....

My hopes and dreams 300sx, new frame, AER forks, dampened triple clamps.

Well, not really news, but the new 250SX is a reality and will most likely be presented at the end of april, when KTM usually does their next year introductions.

It will have an all-new engine, frame, air forks (lol). Dampened triple clamps are already on the current '16s. They will have a 300 kit, but I would be surprised if they would sell a 300 stock. Some people have hinted at a big bore but nothing has been confirmed yet, and also no one has a clue which CC it would be.

Yeah, Saw those about mid summer last year. Figured maybe someone would be more likely to leak nuggets of info since they'll be officially announcing them soon..

Eh get a yami. I had a 13 and 15 sx, just bought a left over yz250. Should have done it a long time ago, I have ridden a 250 sx with cone valves and I still feel a stock yz is better. Guess the old saying is right, keep throwing money

I think they are both great bikes. I'll say I like working on the KTM better than the Yamaha and will most likely buy another KTM.

Really? I liked the original closed chamber forks(vs 4cs) after a little massage from Factory Connection. This is why I still have my 13'. Rode a few 4cs and refused to purchase a bike with them on.

I had revalved closed chambers and stock 4cs, I'm one of the few people who didn't think the 4cs were that bad in stock trim. I just think the yami is a better overall bike that doesn't need money dumped into it.

I'll be at pagoda tomorrow, really want to race but this dam snow storm rolling though. Are you closer to doublin, I know they are running this weekend. I've never been to that place, but from vids I've watched it looks really narrow.

Closer to Doublin. About 45min from the track.I've already called it a weekend. Doublin actually already canceled the PAMX race on Sunday bc of the snow. They are still having practice tomorrow though. Rode the past 2 weekends, but can't get into in with wind and temps in the low to mid 40's.

I dumped my 15 250 sx and replaced it with my 5th yz 250 this season.

I hope pagoda re schedules to, who would show up to race in that? Takes me a minute to get onto 78 and about 15 mins to get to Easton so I'm very close to the border. Gotta make it out to doublin and happy ramblers one time this summer, only d6 tracks I haven't ridden.

But I hope they got all the cobwebs figured out for the new 250. After the spoke issues and cases cracking on the updated 2 strokes. One thing I loved about the ktms was the handling, that thing stayed in a straight line no matter what you did. But once the tracks got rough it was very hard to ride. I could never get the back end to stay settled going through chop. Just bounced around everywhere, I even tried a trax shock.

Question since you've ridden both, do you run the yz with stock clamps? I liked mine a lot more with 22mm offset clamps. Not horrible stock but it was tougher to carve turns than my KTM stock for stock (for me). Thanks

New frame, new motor design, and air suspension over the '16 other than that I have no clue. I hope KTM keeps developing the 250sx far into the future. It will be the first bike for me to consider if I ever decide to get rid of my RM250.

Hoping for a new 300XC in 2017!
Now that they have an entire generation of riders used to insane 450 power they need to bring the 360 back.

I agree with ya. I don't know what the new bike will be like but if I was buying a 16 I would get the yami, my 15 250/300sx was sic but I had a fortune in it. The yz stock is pretty dam amazing, the motors are very close but the big difference is the suspension, and its a BIG difference!Put a pipe on it and oversize front brake rotor and the yz is bitchin!

I always ran my yz's with stock clamp offsets and they subsequently turned like shit. The ktm definitely turned better. I ran an rg3 top clamp for many years and loved it but id like to get the new one to turn better.
