DV, no Pro Circuit silencer? I thought that was your signature deal. FMF pipe, PC silencer. I can't wait to see it all done.

in 99 it was FMF/FMF... At Factory Yami in '00 it was FMF/PC... It was the best combo! ;-)

Looks like someone is getting prepared for a SoCal GP on a two-smoker.

Welcome back, David.

This is gonna be cool as hell.

You heard it here first, folks - DV12 to race Glen & Helen's GP on a Yamaha

2 SMOKE !

The Davalos Twins just did three push-ups in push-up bras at Fredericks Of Bogota.

Voila ! C'eat la vie. Mon Dieux !

That thing looked hammered in the first photos.
Closer inspection the paint has not been warn off the frame. How many rides were on that bike when you parked it? Looks amazingly average. Have bikes gotten that much more trick over the years?

You are doing wonderful work with it.

I had one too.
Front brake that year was crap. I finally fixed it by putting a complete Honda brake assembly I got on ebay and an oversized rotor.

I remember that. I worked at FMF back then and we had to accept the fact that he liked the PC silencer better.

Yep. That Akebono m/c was junk!

And the old brake line routing was far longer than it needed to be. Luckily Honda's patent ran out around 04' or 05' and that was solved from the factory.

My buddy has a 2000 YZ250 and its fast as shit. Totally competitive with anything produced today.

Nice looking bike BTW!

It's coming together nicely. There is a certain calming satisfaction in rebuilding a bike. Glad you are enjoying it.

Nice bikes guys. Just a little FYI, toilet bowl cleaner works like you would not believe on those works pipes. I used "snowbowl" back in the day. It didn't matter how bad the pipe was, it was instantly like new. Right after I was done washing it, I would spray it with WD-40 to stop the rust from setting in.

DV, you REALLY DO want to run the GP @ GH on that don't you?

You could you know, all kidding aside. There would probably be 10 or 20 thousand of the 2-stroke faithful losing their minds if you tried.
