Well, after 15 years on my trusty 04 CRF450, I blew the motor in the biggest way (piston explosion. Junk motor). I decided that it was time for a new steed. Have ridden several buddies bikes in the meantime. Ktm 450, 350, 300. Couple Suzukis, Yamahas. Decided that I needed some 2 smoke back in my life! This afternoon I became a proud new KTM 300 XC owner! Can't wait to go out and rip this beast!

Sweet ride!

May I ask how many hours were on the CRF motor before it vaporized?

It's true what they say about smoking, it's hard to quit.

Sweet ride.

Slip it had been rebuilt top to bottom with oem parts and kibblewhite valves.....about 250 hours ago.... my career didnt afford me a ton of riding time the last 5 or so years. It needed a top end at least. Idiocy on my part. I was good on changing oil and air filters but didnt swap the piston when needed.

It twas a great bike. Ill miss her. Lots of great memories. But I plan on making a gaggle of new ones!

Well...250hrs is impressive as hell if you want to look at that way. I think the most I've known of before was a guy with 225hrs on a '10 YZ 450 with no engine maintenance. It still fired up in 1-2 kicks when he sold it.

Congrats on the new steed!
