Somebody should have reminded James that RC4 lapped the entire field...with him included!

Millville 2006 - he lapped some great mud riders including KDub & DV12 that day.
That was a wild 2nd moto.
That track was nearly unrideable in certain spots - worse than ice some said.
I think even Reynard DNF'd that second moto too along with some other fast guys from that era.
It was obviously a slower race with lap times over 3 minutes.
RC was still hauling ass through whoops and coasting corners without the bike sliding.
It certainly showed his throttle control and balance skills that's for sure.

There's a video I remember of RC going up a hill with a corner like it was nothing...and JS7 was falling all over the place. Amazing that such great riders looked like 'us' out there, but RC wasn't phased.

Dry track vs. mud race. Not taking anything away from that ride, but it's different. Not better/worse, just different.

That 2nd moto made James and the rest of the field look like fools. Unreal!!

I would also argue the competition is a bit deeper now than it was in the early and mid 2000s.

RC lapping everyone was just insane, also in 2005 Reed and RC lapping up to 3rd or 4th in a SX race was just as ridiculous in my opinion.

They lapped up to 12th and also had a 1:17 minute gap on third place in a 25+2 moto. They were both 4 seconds faster a lap than third place and when you compare times they would have lapped up to 7 or 8th place with 5 more minutes, on a dry track btw.
I think you can make a big deal out of it, they were in another league this year. I don't know why people always have to talk everything down, just give them some props.

I never thought DV was waving or celebrating, I thought he was clearing the sleeve from his hand. The weight of the water had caused his sleeves to hang down and I thought he was clearing it back away.

Now I know.
