Ankle hyper extension

I have a weak ankle from years of abuse. I was using alpine tech 8 s for years with not problem then switched to sg12’s, overjoyed jumped a table top, hyper extension. Gotta get new boots , need hyper extension protection, any recommendations? Thanks

I think you mean hyperflex. Get ankle saver pegs. been there done that. I was also wearing Gaernes and switched back to A-stars. I think they are better for hyper flexation but gaernes last way longer.

Your right, that’s what I meant. I did pick up set of ankle saver, actually like them. Which a-stars are using? Thanks.

Can you work on strengthening your leg so you have more stability? Do work on a bosu ball or something?

I also use alpinestars. I only have the cheapo tech 1s but they did their job when i cased a jump a couple months ago. Theyve been used for a season and a half now and only have scratches. No durability issues as far as falling apart. Id imagine the 10s would be even better.

On a very tangential note, I did actually hyperextend my ankle once; I was cornering a minibike with my foot dragging on the ground while wearing shoes. Hit a rock with my heel and the combined forces snapped my foot downward. It felt like my heel touched my calf. Yowza that hurt.
Always keep your feet off the ground, folks. And always wear boots!
Hope you heal up quick, Swatmonkey.

There is not a motocross boot on this planet that will prevent hyperflexion of your ankle.

Tech 10 is the boot with the most amount of ankle protection out there. With that said, there is no boot out there that will prevent an injury if the crash/impact is tough enough. But being in Tech 10 boots is a good start.

I have a couple sets of tech 10 boots (including the newest release) on the website listed below. Take a look and see if we have your size!
