Andrew Short's aggression

Edited Date/Time 1/18/2014 6:41am
I've been hearing the commentators say for years that Short is nice in the pits but aggressive on the track. Rewind Erin Bates "smiley assassin" nickname she gave him in the outdoors one year. Am I missing something? Not bagging on the guy he's a beast, been around for a long time. Just don't recall him being aggressive or someone you don't want to mess with on the track.

Short will punt a dude if need be.
He's clean but not afraid to give some love on the way by.

The first time I heard Smiley Faced Assassin was actually from James Stewart. But he has always been aggressive at defending his position. He has been pretty open and honest about it in several interviews too. If you need a few examples just watch his little back and forth with Tickle all last season.

And I thought all this time it was RC that gave him the "smiley-faced assassin" nickname!

Everytime they say that I have no idea what the hell they are talking about. I have never ever considered Andrew Short to be an aggressive or dirty rider. I don't get it and I been watching him race for 10 years now.

If I recall correctly, didn't Ben Townley show him some "aggression" a few years back at the US round of the MXdN?

There's a reason he is still around. Don't touch an old dogs food bowl.

People only push you around if you let them. He doesn't let them.

I always wonder why Aggression is immediately related to "dirty riding."

Wow! That was cool. Who won? McDade right?

I gotta say, I don't know much about him, heard an interview on DMXS but sounds like a cool story and he rips! Good to see!

When dunge took the title outdoors and short was a factory honda rider I used to screeeeeeeeam at him to put up a fucking fight even if it meant playing a bit dirty as he always seemed to be holes hotting, then dunge would catch and pass no problem.....he didn't once act up, he is a fair rider, not dirty until required in my opinion. He certainly chooses his battles carefully as well, and there is usually a damn good reason.
