Curious if anyone heard what caused Jason to lose positions at the start before regaining momentum and moving forward? Bike problems?

Have not watched it on TV yet, but was there live. Don't know what was shown during the race. What I saw was him making mistakes in some of the rhythm sections when other riders weren't. He was just going slower and wasn't smooth. I think he was pressing too hard and made mistakes. Once he settled in and stopped panicking, he stopped making mistakes.

He was 4th off the start, went to 9th and then back to 4th? I would have bet my paycheck he would have blown everyone’s doors off tonight...good thing I didnt actually do it!

That red plate gets pretty heavy according to RC.

I actually had him picked for the Winner tonight, Kenny came out of no where, like completely caught me off gaurd cause i was paying attention to something else, like right after that pass happen from Kenny jason just started going downhill, as some guy said in the Race thread tonight if he had a flat, which i kinda thought but something looked really off, but then it clicked for him and he clawed his way back up, I was hoping to see him mix it up with Barcia and Kenny, cause i was like "oh man Barcia, Kenny, Peick and Jason, this is going to get good".

Yeah it was weird, he looked like he was going to move forward then went backwards fast. Then he surprised me again by coming back, I was thinking he must have tweaked a knee or something.. ..Can you imagine if tomac is 5 points off in vegas again...

Proved to me he might actually have a shot at winning this championship.

In the past when thing went sideways he pushed too hard and made it worse.

Last night he settled down, regrouped, and salvaged a decent finish.

He has obviously stolen a draft of dungey's autobiography and been studying it.

Maybe he wanted a change or a challenge. Either way, he got it. As mentioned above, the fact that he was able to regroup and move back toward the front tells me that he has arrived at the top. On a side note, if Barcia hadn’t pulled some uncharacteristicly mediocre starts last week, and run like he has been, he could very well have been wearing the red plate by now. Oh well, it’s certainly been an interesting season so far and I for one and digging it.

That was a VERY weird performance. I'm guessing like you guys are that he was pushing too hard to get up to Eli, and the mistakes just started compounding. They showed one mistake on TV where he tucked the front in a RH turn, but saved it.

Looked like JA21 was trying to go so fast his tires would push on the hard pack. He would save it but loose time. He started smoothing out then started making time back

that 6-7 laps of him riding really weird, was interesting, like he was drunk-then he got it together and was the bad ass rider he is. Definitely my favorite guy to watch ride.

There was nothing Dungey'esque about that ride.

Mental instability=arm pump. Was impressive how he pulled himself out of the rut. But you can't be doing that all year with the momentum that is starting to build with these other guys.

I thought for sure we were going to be treated to an Anderson vs. Tomac battle for the lead before he started making a ton of mistakes. That was pretty gritty to stop the hemorrhaging and fight back for a respectable finish.

The extra weight of the red plate I’m sure weighs the bike down making it harder to go through the rhythm sections. I just don’t understand why Feld would make having the red plate such a disadvantage. Whistling

Surprised no one is talking about Seelys anchor with 5 minutes left...did he fall?
Said he made a mistake and knocked the air out himself.

Missed that, fair enough. He will be back.

I know a lot of guys on here don't like social media...but it's the best for quick updates direct from the riders:

I heard he left the choke on on his bike and it took him several laps to turn it off.
