Like he lost a little bit. And had never gotten it back. He is still fast but it seems like he lost just a little bit of his explosiveness he had.
He also needs to stop trying to run it right back in on people when he gets passed. That might have worked in the 250 SX class but here these guys are all to good. So many times he ends up getting passed, tries something aggressive and loses more time.

Tonight has big implications for the championship. Eli needs to finish at or near the top for points. Roczen with a win could go on a tear. AC needs to show if he's a contender or pretender. Webb needs it more than anyone. Anderson has been good but is about to be relegated also-ran. Barcia another instance of showing winning speed only to fall off(even though he's sick). I think most of all it's Roczen who could set the tone for the season tonight.

You are probably correct, I just didn't like how quickly Justin Hill ate him up at the end of that heat. Looks like Chiz is out, so we have Reed, Cunningham, Breece, Blose, A-Ray, Decotis as the best guys in the LCQ. Not a lock for 22 by any stretch.

Agree but shit happens.
Race lap time was nearly 2 secs faster than his qualifier, he needs to qualify better and get better gate picks for a descent go in the heats. Eventually he'll race his way back into fitness and the speed will lift as well.
But hey I'm sure he knows what he's doing, sure is stressful for a farewell tour though.

Hill has top 10 speed. None of the guys listed above do.

Reed had a big mistake on lap 2 that had Hill right there on lap 3. Hill passed him on lap 7.

8/8 in Pulp Fantasy, but not too excited by Clout. I hope he was saving his bacon for the Main, but it seems like his ability in the whoops and dragonback are a bit low compared to the top guys.
