I had never heard of Cannondale making a dirt bike until the other day. Where did the production turn into a flop?

I believe they hired Dave O a few years ago, he was going to work on the mx side, but then I think they felt like they bit off more than they could chew and dropped the program, Dave was pretty bummed, he thought they had a good idea/product. This was about 4-5 years ago now.

They tried too much too quick.

Too smart for their own good.

By the time they got them sorted out they were still way heavy, I don't think they ever ran a National, they just pulled the plug
like HD did with Eric Buell.

Yeah, same deal there.

Buell's on his way back, he's got a 1 liter racer out there, rumor has him making his own stuff this time.

Production turned to a flop on day one. Insufficient funding of the scooter project caused a cannibalization of revenues from the core bicycle line. Now, this scenario would never repeat itself with a pipe builder trying to bust into the energy drink biz----because we all know that is just good business savvy.......
