Regardless of the result does anyone else feel the way the AMA shoots the race in terms of footage and camera angles is a million miles ahead of the mxgp? I’ve watched ama for years and that was the worst redbud I’ve ever watched due to the way it was shot

I noticed there are fewer track mics on the mxgp-tv coverage.
You can barely hear the engines.

Yeah, Audio is also way better on the AMA coverage.

Yep, AMA coverage is always much better.

Infact one of the stand out performances of the weekend was the Youthstream TV producer for opting against using the terrible Quad-Camera.

One thing is that MXGP has a LOT of signage around the course, and unfortunately some of their camera angles are likely based on getting prime images of sponsor signs more than of the riding. Not a criticism, just a big difference from AMA broadcasts.

I think today there was too much camera swapping at times between riders. Like they would lock in on a guy and then jump to someone else very quickly. It just felt very choppy. But I think adding to the confusion a bit is everyone on different numbers and the muddy plates. Even though I watch both AMA and MXGP and can ID almost any of the top riders on sight, today I had a hard time with it.

Agree. In that respect I prefer the AMA coverage.
But I love the mxgptv package and the commentary

It pisses me off too but that’s mostly because America didn’t win. Had they won I probably wouldn’t have even clicked on this thread.

The AMA production is better than GPs, but not the riders or racing...........And I didn't do the MXGP-TV due to so many complaining about it. I always do the NBC Gold package. It was PAINFUL to watch commercials when you know there was racing going on. Why anyone would watch the AMA nationals and not get the Gold package is beyond me.

The GP production needs more bike sounds. It's too muffled.

Interesting to me is while I think the MXGP coverage is poor, MotoGP coverage is incredible.

I really like Paul Malin and Emig together. They are good
My wife and I were watching (she is a moto fan too) MXTV , and I said "I like Emig with Malin more than Emig with Ralph)

She said "That is Emig talking?"

To me, Jeff sounded totally different than on the SX shows - and better

I think he's more relaxed with Malin and he seems to love his banter so I'd assume he enjoys it when he and Paul go back and forth
