Ok so right now I have the original Leatt and I was thinking about getting the alpinestars carbon bionic or just the regular bionic neck brace. I know this has been talked about a lot lately. Im just wondering if anyone has had both the Leatt and the Alpinestars, if so what would you recommend more.

When the Leatt came out I bought them for my son and myself. They were the only choice. I think had there been a choice I would have bought the alpinestars brand.

I had a Leatt Adventure for 3 years, up until a month ago. Got an Alpinestars Bionic (non-carbon) and dont plan on going back. 10X more comfortable for me, and it works with my One Industries Gamma a lot better as well. Not hating on the Leatt at all, but for me personally, the Alpinestars brace is better.

Thanks for the replies guys. Im really interested in getting the Alpinestars Bionic. With my Leatt I dont wear the straps and I dont really notice the brace moving around to much, do you wear the straps for the Alpinestars brace or is it fine without them.

I used the straps for my Leatt, but didnt really feel like I needed to. With the Alpinestars, definitely wear the two bungee string deals that come with it. I forgot mine and raced without them and it felt a little odd due to the way that the Alpinestars sits on your shoulders, compared to the Leatt that sits on top of your shoulders.

I've had both and I'm sticking with the Alpinestar. The strap that comes with it sucks (almost as bad as the Leatt one) but they sell another one separately that works much better.

is there a difference in protection between the two?
They both serve their purpose and do the same damn thing. Besides one comes unlatched mid moto more often than the other, while the other one snags on my helmet and locks it in place occasionally until I pull off and fix it.

Leatt > Alpinestars. That's all I'm saying.

NO experience with the Leatt but I love my Astars BNS and also do not use the straps.

Would you say that the Alpinestars and the Leatt run about the same sizes. I have a medium in the Leatt so would I be good with a medium in the Alpinestars as well.
