Alessi to ride a 450 outdoors?

He's on the 350 at Gatorback and getting bad starts..... He almost lost the first moto to Gannon Audette in Open A.



When has Mike ever had a problem with starts? IMHO if he wasn't such a good starter he wouldn't be a big factor at the races...For sure he's fast but he tends to get a cushion while other riders are coming through the pack. If they catch him he starts slowing down. How many times have we seen him dork out looking around and making mistakes when a rider catches him?

Well, according to all his fan(s) at the time, he was at a huge power disadvantage on the KTM versus the PC (cheater bikes) so, the power shouldn't be an issue.

Maybe he's just working out some bugs on the new bike?

He will have plenty of time on the 350 before the Nationals to figure out what's best. The 350 had the motor removed when I saw him at Mill Creek.

He probably isn't on his factory bike and I'm guessing the races are not 35 min + 2laps like the GPs...

He will be riding with 10 time world champ everts and 3 time world champ Cairoli soon... so he will get faster riding with better riders and dial the bike in better with them.

OH! my mistake he's riding the production 350 with linkage....WTF.

BobbyM...You're right he didn't look around at all last year say... from Mt Morris on? He did his panicked looking around at pretty much every race besides Texas.

man you are right, he was looking around a lot at hangtown too, looking around for somebody to race with.

I wonder if the KTM guys might ride whichever bike suits a particular track? Maybe a 350 at Freestone and Washougal and a 450 at Glen Helen and Unadilla...

Nah man, I havent ridden there in years, sold my bike really long time ago. Then I picked up bmx and mtb. I still love motocross just was never fast enough and wasnt to hot in the air hahaha

Cool I retired also, I just ride a little woods on my Dad's DRZ. You ride swayback trail on MTB? We rode there Friday.

Alessi should just stick to the 450, the AMA shouldn't allow any favors so Mike can ride a 350. I cant see how it would be faster than the 450 because its underpowered and probly is close in weight. If he doesnt get the start he doesnt have a good shot at a win. I mean I hope he proves me wrong, but thats how I see it. Last I heard Mike weighed about 150 on the RMZ

Yea man! I havent rode all Decemeber wasnt dry enough or warm enough haha Now I got this nagging knee issue, so Im trying to get that back up to snuff before I go hit the Swayback again. How was it out there, still a mudfest or perfect tack?
