I was about to post something myself. Just a tragic loss. They were such warm friendly and generous people. Really a sad day.

Teared up a bit over this. Been riding that track since I was 7 years old. Linda was always so nice, always remembered my name and made the best dang cheeseburgers I’ve ever had. Bobs dedication to keeping the track running top notch was unreal. Definitely going to miss those two as well as feel forever grateful for them giving me a space that I spent some of the best times of my life at

Even us Cali boys know that track and the great people behind all the racing that’s gone on there. I’ve had some fun motos there.
I’m very sorry for this loss for the northwestern MX community.

Bummer I have only been there a couple of times but it was always fun. I really hope this isn't the end for this track. 🙏

Same. I spent so many hours at Albany in my teens and 20s, and Salem AX all winter. Hanging out with Roby, Ryan, and a host of others. Bob and Linda were great people, had positive impacts on the lives of many, many young people, and will be sorely missed. Haven't been there for years, yet it feels like we were all hanging out just yesterday.

Man, this is so sad. I haven’t seen Bob in years. I remember walking the property with him when he first took it over many, many years ago. They were such a nice family and I was a kid that just moved to town due to my parents divorcing and he honestly changed the direction my life was heading.
He helped me so much, always made sure I had a bike to ride, helped me get a small truck. He took me riding and was always there for me.
I live on the East coast now and managed to stop by a couple of times over the years and he was still out there working and smiling. They were just great people.
This just breaks my heart.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced but for now I think we are all planning on hitting the opening round to show our support and appreciation.

Such a terrible loss. As many others have written, they went above and beyond just owning a track. They were welcoming, friendly, and put together a really great facility. Heading to practice on summer nights there is a real treat. And of course, the snack shack is locally famous. Beyond that, they did so much to build a sense of community for moto in the Northwest.

I believe this past year they also provided a free place for folks to stay who were evacuated due to the wildfires in Oregon.

My thoughts are with everyone close to them, and as other's have pointed out, let's all do what we can to support Rob and the rest of the crew at Albany.

Alot of my best memories of riding and racing are from Albany. They were amazing people that ran a top notch facility and made you feel at home. 30 years later, i have yet to eat a burger as good as the ones Linda would make... RIP and thank you for the memories!

Hurt to hear this.

I don’t know if younger guys or people from out of the NW know how totally Moto this family is. Bob helped lay out the very first Washougal track in the early 70s and was a promoter of the National back in the day. Both boys won Lorettas titles in the early 90s.

Nothing but great memories of going to Albany for the Pac West series and playing basketball all day Friday at the track with buddies. I was lucky to meet the Leach’s as part of a big group of NW riders going down to Glen Helen for the Golden State series in 92. Roby and Ryan were both always super cool to me when they’d come to practice and ride in Eastern WA and I was just a kid tagging along on a RM 80.
