I think it’s really just two guys racing in an incredibly dangerous sport and yes you can be hyper competitive on the track but maybe it’s not worth continuing the same type of animosity off the track. I’m not sure there is a ton of benefit to holding onto anger, animosity, negativity.

I actually give Ken props and any other riders that you can race hard and then fist bump afterwards.

I don’t think this means Ken is a pussy at all. Or they will ever be best friends. It’s just one bad dude acknowledging another bad dude.

Nothing wrong with that.

Okay to fist bump competitor after a race?

Other option. I wouldn't call Ken a pussy, but I wouldn't have bumped Webb's fist.

Start playing mind games back with Webb. I don't think Ken is willing to park Webb, if he was I don't think he would be fist bumping with him. Sad part is Webb would park Eli or Ken in a second.

Yeah...I posted something about Kenny's "pussification" in another thread...and maybe I need to recant. It was more a respectful gesture for Kenny to acknowledge that Coop was clearly "the man" that night...and beat KR straight up.

But, I do hope Ken nuts up and gives Cooper the business in the races to come.

Webb has established his authority... Period.

Last 5? 1-1-2-1-1 and all the momentum. It appears as though he is about to run off and hide with this.

I’m thinking Webb goes on a roll and wins the rest.

I would moderately agree with you on this.........except........Atlanta is going to be (3) Daytona type tracks, and I can't help but to think Eli is going to nab at least one of those, more than likely he'll take two of them.

Kenny is a gentleman. And a good sport. Great role model and representative of our filthy game. A champion through and through, persevered over some hellish times. Currently, Cooper Webb is just on fire, when Tomac is in full charge mode, and can’t run him down, means Cooper is on another level. Hard to stop. It’s okay to respect the opposition.

He had to fist bump. If ken just rides by, Coop wins again. Fist bumping was his best option, so props for that.

When McGrath mentioned punting Webb, don't think he meant that. They can fist bump all they want when the series is over.

I think Bob Hannah said his generation wouldn't have let Jeremy "get away" with all those wins. He would have been a target.

Racing hard vs intentionally taking someone out are 2 totally different things.

That said, I think Roczen owes Webb 1 or 2. But for someone just to punt someone because they are faster is the cheap route. Paying someone back for some previous moves/passes is a different story.

I think it's clear it was the right thing to do. If he rides by and doesn't, he is obviously butthurt and if I was Webb it would give me even more confidence.

Nothing wrong with respect. Plus if you refuse the fist bump you look like a sore loser and Coop's bitch.

I think it just shows that Ken is losing it and Webb is owning him right now. 3 days ago, Ken was acting all Billy Badass and then he gets smoked and fist bumps the guy. I want to see Ken win the championship but Webb has complete control right now and I don’t think he’s giving it up for anything unless there’s a major crash like Dallas last year or something.

Other scenario, let's say Kenny doesn't bump his fist. Ten threads about it pop up talking about how Coop is in his head and how leaving him hanging solidifies that.

Webb really is playing 4D chess out here, lol

The fist bump signified the end of the title chase . It’s over .

I agree with that... But with Webb's current confidence and speed, he probably runs second to Eli and continues to extend his points lead. Thus, he runs off with the title.

Sticking a 2x4 in your competitor's front wheel (on the starting line) isn't an option anymore?

Kenny's just trying to avoid the massive crow feast his big mouth got him invited to last week.

Personally, I think he went a bit too far. The fist bump was OK; the podium speech was weak and cringey.

It looked like Ken initiated it. Like rode up to Webb and made a point of saying nice job. That’s ghey.

Maybe they called a detente recently. Really I see no issue - it’s good sportsmanship and shows class. Wouldn’t be my way of dealing with it, but I’m not the guy on the red 94.

Do the other spodes at Chicken Licks "own" you when they beat you by two spots as well?

The best (only) mind game to play with Webb is to act completely neutral about everything and then beat him next race imho.

Rewatch the ends of the races early in the season where Roczen beat webb. Cooper congratulated Kenny on winning. I believe that they have a mutual respect for each other as racers.

Not fist bumping Webb would just feed into Webb's confidence. Coop wants Kenny to be upset. Ken quietly being a good sportsman exudes confidence, it says he's not worried. Definitely the better move, regardless of how Ken felt about it.

Ken showed class. I appreciate that....I think Coop would have done the same.

You can be tough on the track....but keep it civil off the track. (unless there was an altercation....then you kick the shit out of the other guy....- Rex Staten)

Kenny is cooked. He lost the championship. He needs to change his focus and just worry about hanging onto 2nd in the points.
