I have a ‘15 Husq FC450. I was looking to buy some air filters from DT-1, and was curious of everyone’s thoughts on their aluminum filter cages.

I’ve heard of lots of people just using a 2T cage as a cheaper alternative, but is there any true benefit of doing one option over the other? If I were to use a 2T cage, would I just get an OEM TC125/250 cage from the same model year (2015)?

If it was me, I would just replace with an OEM 2T cage... I have a Twin Air cage and can't get it to work. Bought another OEM cage instead.

Thanks for the reply. So you just purchased the 2T cage equivalent to the year of your bike?

Do not buy these. I had one and the silver nipples can come unscrewed. I know because it got sucked through my engine. Piston, rings, valves, exhaust, and an extremely sore back all because of an air filter cage. $2k screw up.

Yeah and filter. Not saying the DT1 would not work, but with OEM, you know it will fit just fine. Tired of aftermarket stuff being close enough to be frustrating.

Have a TwinAir on my Yammie YZF and I love it. Ten times better than oe. Had it on my SXF too and don’t wanna use stock cages anymore...

I’ve been using the DT1 billet cages for a few years with no problems. But a 2-stroke cage will do the exact same thing and it’s cheaper.

I did the 2-stroke 250SX cage for my 2018 450 SX-F with Twin Air flame resistant filters. Cheap and easy. I think I just ordered the same year.
