After 10 years of no bike

Its been a long time, I've lurked on here for years, but never post. I had a conversation with the wallet and a nudge from the girlfriend and ended up with a 2018 KTM 250 SX last month. My last 250 2 stroke was 17 years ago (2000 KTM 250SX) and my last bike was Micheal Willards Seattle supercross 2005 KTM SX250F. Needless to say I'm a little rusty and the arm sucks, but its been a lot of fun getting back out. I've only been in Texas a few years so I've only ridden at Murphy's in Red Rock a few times so far. Looking forward to Cycle Ranch opening back up as its closer to me.

I have a few carb parts on order to try the jetting digger has suggested in another thread, for now it has the JD jet kit and runs 100x better than it did. I also dropped the rear sprocket to 49 and adjusted the power valve and set the suspension how MXA had their 2017 setup, which was a great starting point and made the bike enjoyable.

I also think I have a future moto head on my hands here, The girlfriends son is 5 and has never experienced anything like this and is always talking about bikes now. Working on figuring out a way for him to earn his first bike, I'm thinking a CRF50 would be a good start for him for now.

Nice ride. You might of left the sport for 10 years but at least you know better and went with the 2 stroke.

Dyslexia must have kicked in, but hey, at least I replaced the sprocket bolts and torqued them lol.

Thanks guys. When I started to ride the 4 stroke I wasn't really excited with it. It was one of those I really want this and then I'm disappointed in my decision kinda things. I've always loved the 2 stroke smell and sound.

That is awesome!

Weird side note : my buddy Sean got a new bike after 10 years off too this past summer. He runs #595 and picked the exact same bike.

Congrats. Have fun on her and stay safe.

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Sweet bike, what are you mixing your fuel ratio to?

60:1 VP C12 with Amsoil dominator oil. I've run both in my shifter kart at 32:1 and I've been really happy with the performance and consistency in both.

I've been in that cool-aid for years since the Suzuki dealer I used to race for gave me a KTM to ride for them. It took a little getting used to, but after that I've always like them and felt the most comfortable on them. Photo
