Very nice. Garage all the way in back, or flush with the house? Either way, it's going to be nice.

There's a home for sale near me which has an RV garage, by the way. This is the ultimate set up if you ask me! I happened to be driving past when he had the door open, and there's a loft up top in the back. I'd never come into the house if I had that setup.

We had some more rain today and sun came out about 3 and will be finishing prep tomorrow and pour on Wednesday. We already have a 3 car garage on the house so the 4th Garage door will be 120 feet from the curb.

It will be 3 months till garage will be put up but will be able to park the Fun Mover on the RV parking pad instead of sinking in the mud.

Can be done for wayyyy under 10k if you do it yourself, doesn’t cost 10k to get a concrete truck there

Ok, do it yourself. $1500 for a concrete truck, per load. Looks like 3-4 loads. Your not pouring and finishing 30-40 yards by yourself, pay 4-5 men day labor. Grade it out with a shovel? Or rent a machine? Go pick it up, and return it full of fuel. Any steel reinforcement? =$9800

Took 7 guys hustling and 4 concrete trucks to pour it today.

I am a doer not a watcher so this has 100% been killing me...... but I did run the electrical conduit though

The last concrete driver gave me the receipt and if I am reading it right it took 27 yards @ $125 a yard. So after tax tag and delivery charges ... lol concrete cost was $3,632.65

From the Curb to the end is 140x16 feet plus paved behind the 3rd car garage. 60 foot is 6 inch and rest is 4 inches.

Something else to consider is .... Every inch of it was hand finished .

Let the curing begin and its sounding like the Fun Mover will be parked in the yard for about 3 more weeks.

Ask your local concrete contractor, what’s your S/F price for residential broom finish. I bet they will tell you $5. Then take the customer above dimensions (140’x16’) multiply this by $5. And this number dose not include grading. This gentleman performed some of his own labor and purchased his own concrete, I would say he paid $1 per S/F for the 7 men to place and finish. That’s as cheap as it gets, and only goes up from there.

You’re pretty close. I’m a concrete contractor. 5 bucks a square foot is accurate plus grading and any extras. Definitely not a diy project unless you want the finish to look like the average woop section at a super cross track.

Concrete was step 1 so in roughly 3 months step 2 structure goes up.

That’s easily an $8k-$12k concrete job. Depends on your part of the country. Up in Dallas that’s gonna be pushing 10-12k easily.

- dig out grass and level
- rebar and tie in
- concrete
- labor
- finish

That’s bigger then just a DIY pad for garbage cans.

That’s a large driveway extension.

Looks great!

A year ago pre covid I was quoted $18,000 and $21,000 by 2 contractors at a 110 feet length.

Everything behind the fence is 6 inch to support a metal 14x20 garage and the heavy Super C motorhome.

As they say when something is right JUMP ON IT!!!

Covid must have made them very very hungry because I got such a smoking deal I instantly said DO IT and liked it so much I added 30 feet longer and 16 feet wide instead of 15 and a metal building. The building will get rid of 2 things. 1 crumbling 15 year old plastic shed and 1 dual axle enclosed trailer I had bought to hold the slower moving products.

When the weather broke there there were 4 guys here every day plus a bobcat operator for 3 days and 7 guys pouring it.

OK I need to go water it so it can cure faster then it starts raining to night for a week.

I agree with you. My first guess would have been 15k-20k. Not at all surprised if it was over that even. Concrete work ain’t cheap. And whoever says it is probably got a crap end result.

You got a smokin deal on it!

I had a nice sized patio extension poured with pretty hefty footing around the perimeter. Not so much as a hairline crack in this sucker almost 7 years later. Footing if I recall was 12 inches x 6 inches around the whole perimeter. I wanted this new slab to match up level with my current patio so there is some places the concrete is easily 12-18 inches thick on the perimeter.

I completely over built it obviously but I didn’t want a crack anywhere and I want to be able to build an oakwood patio cover in the future if I wanted to. Those can be pretty heavy.

I rate concrete work only slightly behind roofing in tough ass jobs. There's a reason you don't see many "old" guys doing it. No thanks.

I got a estimate about 10 years ago on pouring a concrete driveway at my house in Estes Park and its was close to 100K at the time, but it is also about 250 feet long and then would have also needed some additional flatwork around the garages. I ended up with the flatwork up top and then tar for the drive.

You are a good man if you take care of the labor, I always buy the guys a bunch of pizzas and sodas when I get work like this done and if I ever need more work they do me a great deal because they know I appreciate the hard work they doSmile .

Concrete definitely isn’t cheap. My parents just redid their driveway, $55K. I couldn’t believe it. I have a whole new perspective on driveways now.

Couple of the neighbors came by and one said you have the biggest driveway in the neighborhood and the other said you have parking for a lot of your friends during a party! Wife commented that with our 4 bedroom house with a mom dad and 4 driving kids they could need parking for 5 cars
