Thoughts? A lot of you seem to like triple crown after Detroit. How about double headers?

250 class would just be 2 15 min + 1 lap mains, and 450 class 2 20 min + 1 lap mains. Similar qualifying system where qualifying is determined in practice, with an LCQ finalizing the last 4 spots. Both mains would count as points, similar track time as a normal night of racing, and the break in between motos would probably be even more for both classes until their next main (compared to triple crown) so plenty of time to recover.

What do you think?

Im actually in favor of this over triple crowns. Its a good middle ground between a normal race and a triple crown. Plus, we get to see the top guys all night. Win-win. Throw in a halftime show and show the ktm jr challenge and even throw in some race analysis of the first 2 motos and even the makeup to mud type filler. Between those you got 3 commercial breaks and (hopefully) good content.

that way when you have a minor injury in a night, you can lose out on 50 points rather than 25..cant see this being very well received

If they still feel the need to change I'd take double headers over the triple crowns, gives more time for those with bad starts to work towards the front. The triple crowns are just no good for bad starts.

As long as we can see the LCQ's as part of the night show before the mains, I'm down

Stick with (3) Triple Crowns, add (2) double headers and the rest (12) can be old school (with foreplay-esque) Heats and Mains.

With the nationals every round has the same points up for grabs, this format is like a bonus point system.
I wouldn't mind seeing a mix of triple headers, double headers and traditional formats with each overall still counting for the same amount of points

It is true that less semi pro/amateurs will hurt the local scene.

Seing a semi pro/good amateurs at the local tracks help a lot to sell bikes & special parts especially to youngsters.

Gotta be overall points paying. I think a double header format with lcqs starting the show would be more exciting than the triple crown or traditional format.
