AC is going to be eligible for 250 class again in 2020 no matter what he does in '19 so it's not stamped he's 450 in 2020 although I know he wants to go. Lots of things could happen, including Joey killing it and Kawi saying to AC "Hey man, what's another year in 250's?"

But when he goes 450's, no doubt in my mind that he stays green. They love him for many reasons.
I know it's for a big paycheck, but I'll be pretty disappointed as a fan if he ends up staying on the 250 in 2020.

Joey is a top 250 rider. Top 250 riders get 450 rides. Its how it works fam.

9th in the point standings of the 250 class at age 24 doesn't exactly scream top 250 rider to me.

12 wins in 6 years when younger talent is continuously better than you and moving up to the 450. Couple that with only 1 win this season and he's not exactly a hot commodity for a 450 ride going into 2019. You have to be pretty incredible on the 250 to even have a chance on the 450. He's not. All I'm saying is there are several more riders deserving of a Factory Kawi ride.

Dude, you’re wrong on this. Outside of this year (which isn’t great timing) Joey came within a handful of points of winning two consecutive 250 sx titles. Joey is considered a top 250 guy for sure.

Now...I don’t know what is going on with him this year but still. Gotta take the last few years of SX into account

I’m curious...who are these people more deserving of the ride that Kawi would consider hiring?

Who - stats-wise, not your opinion - is more qualified for the Kawi ride than Joey?

I feel like Joey is on the same level as Weimer was when he moved up, minus the title. Get the kawi deal, be good not great. Solid 8-12 guy

If Joey kills it next year, and Kawi asks AC to stay on a 250 one more year, do you think that HRC swoops in with a 450 and a matching money contract for him?

Thread title....AC
Thread conversation...Savatgy

Keep vitaling vitards.

Btw, A LOT can happen by the time 2020 rolls around. Also, AC does have a choice in the matter. It's not all about "I bet Kawi keeps him".

I wouldn’t be surprised to see HRC offer him more than Kawi does for a 450 ride. They aren’t afraid to spend for talent. Remember it was rumoured they offered Tomac more money to stay than Kawi did to leave. Roczen was given an extremely healthy salary to go there also

Speaking of Kawi rides....why in the hell haven't you done a Kawi Tom Benolkin podcast yet?
