Was wondering what oil you would use in the transmission of 2 strokes specifically the Kx85.
Would this Atf work fine or are there special types like type f?

I use BelRay gear saver. Its the only lube I have been able to get a clutch tolast more than 6 weeks when I was racing 125pro. ATF works great when a clutch starts slipping, but the transmission gears don't tolerate the shockloading as well with the atf as its doesnt have the same additives in it

It will work, but better would be cheap regular Supertech ATF Dex/Merc And change it out when it looks bad and more often.
Also keep in mind, Any Brand Type F is slightly less "Slippery" so it would be better if the clutch is worn or going away.

I agree with the guy above, on the Gear Saver, it is fine as well.

From what I have been told years ago when I was thinking of running ATF...Type F has a "grip" agent in it, and "Dextron/Mercron" has a "slip" agent. The reality is, you will rarely wear out any lubricant that you put in a bike...the need to change it comes from it being full of clutch particles...which basically turns it into an abrasive fluid running through your motor. Go with what the manual says, and change it often...the more the merrier on an 85.

I’ve run type F for quite a few years now in our 2 strokes with no issues

Maxima MTL 75wt. I ran Bel-Ray in the 90's in my 80's, supermini, 125's and 250's but when my kids started racing in 2005 we started using MTL. I'm sure they both perform as well but I am speaking on what I have recent experience with. We have used this with great results on 50's thru 125's now.
