Nothing like cutting off your nose in spit of your face. Such a shame with a sport literally stuck in the mud and always asking their self why very few outside sponsors bring money to the table. Bottom line the right tracks weren't greased and I'd be willing the bet atleast one of the talking heads that put this release out uses CBD themselves. What's funny is I had no idea what Ignite was until the riders were ordered to black it out. Also no one looks at jersey sponsors on the podium interview and suddenly goes searching for answers on Google. Come on guys. ??
I know the legality is the matter, just seems so incredibly ridiculous to not use a bit of common sense and I really can't see the affiliation between their show and a contractor's personal sponsorship counting as endorsement from the promoter. Put it on the other foot, do they exclusively endorse SmartTop hot-tub covers? I know Moto-Concepts does. I don't think it means Feld or NBC has a view.
But then I guess we're talking about the same dummies who blurred Travis' RB logo a few years back so what am I even talking about.
In our house, we still call it the Butterfinger Crisp Holeshot.
I’ve had a butter finger, crisp, holeshot. It should definitely be regulated.
The Shop
Ya, that is gonna be the cannabis industry.... Like duh. They might wanna make friends in that industry NOW, just sayn....
When Chad Reed and James Stewart had big sponsorship from the San Manuel Casino, I don't think it ever said "casino" but rather San Manuel Band of Mission Band of Soboba Indians or something like that because you couldn't advertise a casino or that kind of gambling back then on TV.
Also, we've had Weed Maps wanting to be a presenting sponsor at Washougal for a couple of years now but can't because marijuana may be legal in Washington and Oregon but it's not in all of the places where TV reaches...
I believe CBD oils will be a great sponsor stream for a lot of riders in the very near future, but right now it's not cleared everywhere and that's why the AMA had to put out this bulletin.

Racer X
I was expecting 10 by now.
Pit Row
deep in there...
ProducerPete the SX TV guy thinks it's good.
Ladies and gentleman shit is going to hit the fucking fan
They get more exposure for their CBD sponsor just from the controversy, than if they just wore the sticker that most people can't even see on TV.
Create a social media drama fest, hyping up the restrictions by AMA/Feld, and they just got way more exposure for the product than if they were not restricted. The CBD companies probably expected this when they sponsored them.
