Stupidcross team sponsors over the years ?? I'm hoping others will add some as well.

EZ wider Yamaha (yes the rolling papers)
Team Stiffe
SMP (which stood for sex money power)
Bud Light
Jagermiester
Coors Light
Camel

Nothing like cutting off your nose in spit of your face. Such a shame with a sport literally stuck in the mud and always asking their self why very few outside sponsors bring money to the table. Bottom line the right tracks weren't greased and I'd be willing the bet atleast one of the talking heads that put this release out uses CBD themselves. What's funny is I had no idea what Ignite was until the riders were ordered to black it out. Also no one looks at jersey sponsors on the podium interview and suddenly goes searching for answers on Google. Come on guys. ??

It just seems like a weird standpoint to say anything you see on our broadcast we’re responsible for and the potential impact to our viewers means we need to neuter a sponsor.. News and murder? Rape? Drugs? Border control? Natural disasters? Some illegal. Some horrible. Some life. None of it do I assume the broadcaster has any responsibility for.

It just seems like the typical left censorship of anything that offends, which is a dangerously stupid compass to live by. Bad things aren't bad to talk about, in fact, discussion of anything controversial only leads to better understanding of potential pitfalls... whether that's politics, substances, standpoints or events.

I can at least understand the negative association with Dean’s sponsor given they flat out sell Weed but even without full legal indemnity surely no-one thinks cbd is bad? Alcohol still sponsors sports and everyone knows how bad that is for people.

As for refugees... I don’t have anything nice to say here so I won’t. It’s bad all around.

I was being dickish with the refugee comment...sorry mate.

I have no idea if Feld/AMA are just using a convenient excuse to deny CBD sponsorship or if they have been told by counsel that allowing a rider to publicly use the broadcast platform to endorse/promote a product that isn't totally "legal". That's why I wanted to hear from DC. This will be an issue for MX soon so whichever direction he goes will probably answer the question about Felds motives.

Personally, I don't give two shits about pot or CBD. If I needed it I'd have a different opinion. Also, I'm so old and cynical that advertising/endorsements are my key to avoid products/services.
Nothing to apologise for. It's a shit situation, involving shitty people, people in shitty situations and our shit politicians on both sides. I thank god we're an island though, fuck trying to work out what you bastards have to deal with!

I know the legality is the matter, just seems so incredibly ridiculous to not use a bit of common sense and I really can't see the affiliation between their show and a contractor's personal sponsorship counting as endorsement from the promoter. Put it on the other foot, do they exclusively endorse SmartTop hot-tub covers? I know Moto-Concepts does. I don't think it means Feld or NBC has a view.

But then I guess we're talking about the same dummies who blurred Travis' RB logo a few years back so what am I even talking about.

Butterfinger Crisp.Wink
In our house, we still call it the Butterfinger Crisp Holeshot.

I’ve had a butter finger, crisp, holeshot. It should definitely be regulated.

If it's illegal in that State, just tell them to cover it up.

To strictly not allow them to have sponsorship is straight up bullshit if you ask me.

Yet that poison Monster is “ok”... Anyone take a stroll down the Vegas strip lately? The pot is everywhere, and they are worried about a little non intoxicating oil that may or may not work?

I'm far too lazy to look up which states haven't legalized CBD but it would only take one lawsuit from John Q. Public accusing Feld or the series for promoting "illegal" products...so I understand them covering their backsides. This may not be their whole reason for the new rule but sounds legit.

I bet old DC could give us an opinion since this will most likely pop up again this summer (looks like this ruling is SX specific).

DC made comment in this weeks Racerhead.
Reed said he was running the stickers no matter what, but I think that only applied to last weekend in a state where CBD is legal. Gonna be interesting to see what happens this weekend.....
Gang, the nationals are in the same situation as Feld and the AMA here: Until the law changes (which we are hoping happens before outdoors) it's hard to allow CBD to advertise on riders, as while the laws are different by state, TV goes to all 50 states. The law will change soon -- I guess the Farm Bill has even already signed, but not implemented -- but until then there are FCC restrictions on what can and can't be shown on TV, as well as how and where CBD can be advertised.

When Chad Reed and James Stewart had big sponsorship from the San Manuel Casino, I don't think it ever said "casino" but rather San Manuel Band of Mission Band of Soboba Indians or something like that because you couldn't advertise a casino or that kind of gambling back then on TV.

Also, we've had Weed Maps wanting to be a presenting sponsor at Washougal for a couple of years now but can't because marijuana may be legal in Washington and Oregon but it's not in all of the places where TV reaches...

I believe CBD oils will be a great sponsor stream for a lot of riders in the very near future, but right now it's not cleared everywhere and that's why the AMA had to put out this bulletin.

Yes, yes it is. Any CBD oil derived from hemp is 110% legal in all 50 states in the farm bill that, possibly going to be the best president ever, signed in 2018. There is not a single state in the United states where CBD oil from hemp is not legal. There ARE states where cbd oil from marijuana isn't legal. I don't know anything about the TV regulations or where it all stands there right now but you can use, buy, sell cbd(from hemp) in any state you want.

You can guarantee CBD sponsors will be free and clear as soon as Feld signs them as a presenting sponsor

Ok smartass', I don't know Mav or care what you think about him. He does enlighten us all with great photo sharing & insight so I don't know why youd wanna hate on that. Your comment is asinine. Sponsors sponsor people to advertise their brand. If they can't advertise their brand any longer, why tf would they continue to sponsor said rider? Real genius you are while hating on Mav. Let me guess, you're not old enough to remember a few years back when chad lost his 360 camera sponsor because gopro, a series sponsor at the time, shut them down & wouldn't let them display in the pits, etc?

Totally agree, because at that point it will be 100% legal everywhere. I really don’t understand why a lot of you can’t comprehend this. Actually, I’m sure you can, but just love to cry.

Gonna get interesting today for sure with reed. He’s been promoting the hell out of it on his Instagram story.

Reed will cave. Like they all cave. If they can’t organzie what makes you think theyre gonna just get slap happy with questionable sponsors ?

Chad Reed is a promoter of his sponsors, just like Dean Wilson and Ignite.

They get more exposure for their CBD sponsor just from the controversy, than if they just wore the sticker that most people can't even see on TV.

Create a social media drama fest, hyping up the restrictions by AMA/Feld, and they just got way more exposure for the product than if they were not restricted. The CBD companies probably expected this when they sponsored them.

It doesn’t calm you down at all.

What it actually does is get rid of the craving to smoke. The cravings to smoke start as soon as you put out a fag. Cravings make you irritable and stressed. The thing you say makes you calm is actually the thing that is making you angry.

I guess it’s true what they say though, nothing worse that an ex-smoker.

I quit smoking cigarettes 20 years ago. There are still times I would enjoy a cancer stick, then a smoker walks by and the stench hits. If you’d a pack a day smoker, that’s 20 times a day you get a hit of nicotine, brutal addiction.

Just before I quit I was smoking a fag every 20 minutes when I wasn’t working. It really is brutal.
