The Shop
I can't wait for the next batch of GP transplants to come over.
Why is team Canada on there? Are they listed as AMA riders?
With or without team Canada the AMA riders seem fairly out numbered.
I think we can all agree there is some excellent talent on both sides of the pond.
For me Reed and Byrne were real let downs. Ferry until the last race looked like he was struggling.
RV was really impressive. JS had crazy speed but looked a bit nervous
All in all they got the job done even with some bad luck but that moto I like seeing a race its more exciting especially when they dont ever ride with eachother.
Good on all the teams the MXOF is a bad ass race I hope to go next year.

De Dyker is the man. I love watching that dude ride.
Pit Row
Cairoli ('07 MX2 World Champ)
Christophe Pourcel ('06 MX2 World Champ - Sebastians younger & faster brother)
Townley ('04 World Champ + 2nd in 07 AMA outdoors & East Coast SX champ)
Langston ('02? World Champ, '07 AMA Outdoor champ & '06 West Coast SX champ)
Strijbos (2nd in the world MX1 in '07)
Boog (7th in the MX2 this year)
Frossard (10th in MX2 this year)
Swanepoel (SA's 3rd best rider behined Langston & Rattray)
etc etc
You guys constantly tell us that the America has the fastest riders, and yet the facts suggest that everyone barr Stewart & VP (who desecrate all opposition both sides of the Atlantic) generally run about the same speed.
We already know that Brown finished 7th in GP's in last year, Tedesco didn't do jack at the des Nations in '06, Hamblin finished 21st in MX2 last year (Ok not in his favoured class) and Alessi was an 'also ran' in GP's a few seasons ago.
The riders that have competed both sides of the pond show similar results in both series, GP riders that move to the US often start competing for titles straight away and now look at the current AMA riders results from last weekend... ok so it was a little wet, ok so one or two might not have got decent starts, ok it was colder than they were used to, ok the dirt was different to what they're used to etc etc... but 14 race results; Ferry's, Byrne's, Cooper's, Metcalfe's, Balbi's, Reed's & Klatt's, ALL tell a story.
All I know is that it's a pleasure to watch all of these guys ride and I wish I could get to see them more often. It was fantastic having Brown and Hamblin here last year and now Osborne. Send more over please!
I honestly think that most AMA riders get complacent and lose a lot of desire after a few years of high paying factory rides.
Everrytime I see a GP race, it seems like the riders want to win or die trying. Most of the AMA guys will give it a go for a few laps and then once they get passed they start looking for the checkered flag to they can go back to their motorhome and watch DirecTV.
AMA riders won the overall.
AMA riders won 67 % o f the classes outright.
Of 105 riders entered, 11, or just over ten percent, compete in the
AMA.
For the most part, this small sampling of AMA participants finished
in the top twenty (20) percent of ALL riders competing.
ALL the American riders had at least one top ten (10) finish.
We have fifty states, we only sent riders from two of our states.
96% of tthe fans came to see Bubba throw insane whips over
the tabletops, the other 4% threw bottles at him.
No matter how you slice it, the Americans currently remain at the top of
the motocross food chain.
Can we be beat? Hell yeah.
But not at Red Bud, no way.
USA Team 1
MX1 Stewart
MX2 Villopoto
MX3 Ferry
USA Team 2
MX1 Alessi
MX2 Dungey
MX3 Short
USA Team 3
MX1 Milsaps / Hepler / Osborne
MX2 Stroupe / Canard / Wharton / Lawrence / Izzi
MX3 Grant / Hill / Tedesco
I honestly think we could put two of the three teams on the podium and possibly all three with a little luck. There's not another country in the MX world that can make the same claim.
Oh and Factoryphoto, i really agree with your decent posts Not totally one sided which is cool
That would add a level of fairness to things and, at the same time,
make things a LOT more interesting...
Additionally, we 'd have some grass-roots support for all the "local lads'
competing....
*Not to worry, California or Florida teams could still wrap things up.
Delaware and North Dakota might struggle....

AMA riders won the event and that's the point. What is your point?
