Anyone race one of these before?
I plan on racing the one at Glen Helen with some friends and I’d like to know what to expect.

I raced Gorman in 16 and my buddies race them a lot. A buddy of mine will be racing GH next weekend.

They are a ton of fun! Do unclassified to learn the course. Day kinda drags a little bit, but it is so relaxed compared to racing moto. Overall it was a great experience and I can't wait to do another one especially now that they have a 25+ class.

I guess with a race that long is it hard to gage how much fuel you got before it runs empty?
And also do they allow more than one rider per bike?

Which class? I rode Heavyweight Novice(45 minutes) on a stock tank and was fine.

Plan on motoing for an hour. Stock tank is plenty unless you're running the 1.5 hour race.

Personally, my favorite series

I raced my first one in Taft the other weekend. Pretty much a long moto course. Very fast wide open nothing technical. Not sure about the glen helen course but I expect that would be pretty wide open as well.

Here's a video of last year's race at GH. The series offers a lot of different yet fun terrain that isn't too challenging and preserves the bike.

Probably novice or I might look into unclassified like you said. I haven’t decided if I want to race my 125 or fc350.
Shit my friend told me it was 3 weeks away, but this flyer says it’s coming up next weekend.

Ya it is next weekend. I’d honestly rather ride the 350. But that’s just me. Moto I’d choose the 125 for fun, but not in a gp lol. It’s seriously so much fun to race big 6 and I’m so bummed I didn’t race them sooner. That’s what I plan on racing when I can start racing again.

This sounds like fun. So it's an hour long race at Glen Helen through the hills and fire roads? I'll check the video, but my battery is low now.

Just saw it's AMA..do they offer one day memberships? I don't want to spend $50 for one-two races per year.

My buddy hit the first two rounds and had a blast he's got me talked into it for next weekend. I'm heading out Sunday to the SRA GP to get some practice in for next week it's been a while since I've ridden a GP not sure how long I can push the pace.

Plan on a mudder. I haven't looked at the forecast, but have been there every year since 15. So get some roll offs. Stock tank is fine for the 45 minute race, and if you are out of shape, you can still have fun there and do decent. Show up to 29, primm, havasu, or adelano out of shape and I bet you will pull off if you try to ride a decent pace the whole time Lol. Glen Helen is a blast
