Did we do this yet? This guy can't catch a break. (No pun intended)

Really bummed as he wasn't having the year he was hoping for and didn't get a chance to improve much on it before this happened. For me, he's a great role model for the sport. Sure he's had his fair share of crashes and missed opportunities for greatness, but in my opinion, there are champions on the track and off the track and it's rare for a pro to embody both of those.

Agreed. Adam's generally affable personality goes a long way, especially compared the the monosyllabic scripted drivel that usually prevails on the podium. I feel like Jett Lawrence is much the same.

Is AC becoming the Forkner of the 450 class (as far as crashes/injuries go)....

Bummer for AC.

Nope. Forkner is a turd. Id say more of a trey Canard. All the speed in the world, just some really bad luck/poor decisions. I hope he heals up and comes back stronger than ever. He seems like a great dude and can obviously put down some insane lap times.

No, Forkner can be a dick, I haven't seen this from Adam.

oh man, this is very true and I hadn't considered the similarities.

Canard could run with JS7 when he was firing, and would then blow out a knee. I really hope better for AC9. Seems like a legit kid (as was Canard)

Both are turds.
Adam has been doing it forever now and should have it together.

You know what I'd like to see? "Rider out" threads with POSITIVE DIALOGUE and encouraging words for said rider.

How about leaving the negative comparisons to other riders out as well..

Get Well Adam, see you back soon Smile

Reading comprehension folks.....

Nothing I said about AC was negative. I wasn't comparing their personalities or the kind of person they are.

1. He is crazy fast.
2. He is crashing a lot.
3. He keeps getting injured.
= Just like Forkner.

I even ended with "bummer for AC".

Kid is a stand up dude.

FFS....it's like I insulted someones mommy.

Dude do not be offended by all the down thumbs, half the voters probably agree with you but are to PC to say it and the other half likely didn’t even read it, they saw some down thumbs and it’s a case of monkey see monkey do.
For what it’s worth I agree with your original post, AC is a sound guy try’s his best but does seem to hit the dirt a lot. Now just to make you feel better watch my down votes.

Oh trust me.... I couldn't give two shits about people downvoting me. Nor do I use the downvote feature myself... using that feature is weak-sauce.

I was responding to the post about "comparing him to other riders" and being "negative".

Before we jump all over AC as being injury prone in the 450 class let's look at the landscape of the 450 class since 4-strokes became more or less ubiquitous:

Villopoto - injured in 2009 and 2010, his first 2 seasons.
Canard - injured pretty much every season but 2013.
Barcia - injured in 2014, his 2nd year, then again 2015 and 2016.
Roczen - survived 2014 rookie season, injured in 2015 SX.
Tomac - multiple injuries in 2014 his rookie year, then the big one in 2015.
Webb - injuries in 2017 and 2018 his first two seasons.
Plessinger - injured in 2019 and 2020 his first 2 seasons.
Osborne - injured in 2019 and 2020 his first 2 seaosns.

The exceptions: Dungey obviously, also Anderson was healthy in 2015 and 2016 his first 2 years, and Musquin was good in 2016 and 2017 his first 2 years as well.

The reality is in the 450 era, guys are going to get hurt adapting to the bike and pace. The exceptions are few.

Lads gotta start thinking about a career path similar to canard.

Sometimes you just don’t have the head for travelling at light speed

Wow, sharks in the water. Give the kid a break. The track was super gnarly and a man eater both weeks.

His night headed south when he decided to let Webb lead.

I have huge respect for Adam as a person and a rider. He always says the right thing and is the most eloquent athlete I've ever heard. He handles victories and setbacks with class and integrity. I'm bummed for him, and as a fan I hate that he won't be out there.

It’s not if but when. Pure luck if you make it through a career without multiple and often serious injuries.

The problem with this is that Adam crashed out of all his 250 seasons except 1. And even that 1 he barely made it. It has nothing to do with the 450. It's on Adam.

The whoop section crash seems like mistake he should not made given the caliber of riders that survived that section on 450s, and how good he is. Bummed to see him out again.

Any kind of good finish in the points is out of reach now so i hope he lets everything that has been bugging him heal up before he comes back! He'll be a title contender once we hit the outdoor series.

Wonder how many of his big injury crashes are sx. I like sx, but every year it takes out some riders from the REAL dirtbike racing .... aka motocross.

Adam C has an outdoor national championship. That alone puts him in way different company than Forkner.

He's hardly a kid- 25 this year and has been racing over 20 years and pro for 8.

Webb passed him-easily- because his fitness is suspect by mid race.

He's so far been an over hyped flop despite his 1 title.

Sorry.

I don’t think his fitness is suspect by mid race. I think it’s known before the race even starts he’s likely to have fitness issues... because he was injured in the offseason and couldn’t ride/train. Sheesh.
