Found it... They had a couple variations of the hip jump in this track but none of them are very big. The best one was the jump right before the finish line. Also a little Ride Hard for you lol

Cover your insides, maintain whoop/rhythm speed and you're not getting passed easily in a 12 minute main.

Keys to the race:
- Get a good start
- Get a good start
- Get a good start

" I really think getting a good start is going to be critical tonight Ralph."

Paging Justin Brayton for a podium.

Unlikely. Track was built and covered before any of the rain this week. Friday-Saturday doesn’t call for any rain.

There have been a few tracks in the past with hip turns, which is what this is. Most of the ones I recall though had a table top, rather than a double, but I may just not have seen them.

Indeed! but they had to sacrifice the start straight length, I remember being there last year and it did look like the stadium had more room for track however not as much as they put this year, I'm guessing it's gonna be tight. Last year race was fun because of the triple clown and the track deteriorated fast and easily. They're doing like 45 sec laps. Hopefully they can keep the conditions up this year as they're going to sprint. AC'd have a harder time getting the holeshot here and it's probably a good chance for Musquin, Seely or Brayton for a race win if they get first to the corner.

That remains to be seen. I’ll be at the track all day Saturday and will keep you updated on how big it actually is. My guess is it won’t be as big as you think because a big hip jump on a SX track probably isn’t very safe. Especially one right up against the outfield fence

I played a pretty good model of A2 on MES last night. It was tight and busy, with the short races to say the start is going to be important is a huge understatement, there will be mass chaos in the pack. The 2 rhythms could produce a variety of combinations hopefully.

They actually had one at Anaheim during RC's first year in SX I think? It was a big floater that went to the right just like that. It may have been RC's first win?

The stranger part is that Atlanta is a football field and Anaheim is a baseball field. Anyways, did Atlanta 2014 have good racing? Don’t really care if they recycle tracks so long as there’s good racing

Ugh, I watched the entire race, watched JS7 go down twice, knowing it was going to happen. Now 3 laps into RD 2 Phoenix, again, knowing Stewy is going down, and still get as much anxiety as I did 6 years ago when he loses it..

2012 > 2019 thru first 2 rounds

Nothing new. They use design influences from previous years that they feel made for good racing.

He is comparing the atl track with the ny 2019 track, not Anaheim.

Hmm ... I see half the track as one lined. From the start straight to the corner at the very top. Sand sweepers always are and following the track from there, the way the turns are with the sections, I don't see any passing opportunities. Last three sections before the finish will be where all the passing happens.
Good analysis.

It looks fun to ride but very difficult to overtake except on the section you mentioned.

On a triple crown format, a large part of the result will depend on the starts, so we may see a win from the usual suspects, ... or from a great starter. Here Musquin, Bogle and Friese for exemple could have a great result. I don't see Tomac and Anderson winning this one as they may not make 3 great starts. Roczen or Barcia on the other hand could have this consistency

The qualification times will be more important than usual to have a good grid on the first short main and so to have the opportunity to have a good evening. That is why I also don't think Reed, Plessinger or Hill will have a great evening, they will do better next round Wink

EDIT: Hill may get a win or a podium IF:
- he does a top 8 qualification time
- he gets 3 great starts
- he find an alternative rythm such a quad in the 2 lanes

Yea, even the C guys are clearing the hip jump, it's a non issue this weekend.

Still cool....but NOT as interesting as I expected.
