If this subsides just before, or more likely partially into the start of the outdoors. Have a final SX round at Daytona, it is an outdoors track so teams could test etc, and also an outdoor facility for virus safety. Then roll right into the outdoors at Hangtown, for a full or shortened outdoors series.

The outdoor venues take more time to prepare for an event. Where as Daytona could be ready in a week. It actually helps the outdoors by giving them some time after we get the green light.
Besides, after that last race can you imagine a final rematch?

I can think of a lot of scenarios that might happen. A Florida to California drive is in none of them.

Sry to ruin your day, but you will be very, very lucky if you see any of the outdoor rounds, but that probably not going to happen

Slightly modified cannonball run... but instead of hypercars they use fully-loaded team rigs.

Sport TV's could broadcast it live. They would bend over backwards to have something new live instead of countless replays.

It is worth the consideration at some point. laughing

Good point. Although both series seem to do a lot more back and forth across the country than necessary. But yah, no.

, was trying to think of a final SX round that would be outdoor style so the teams could stay outdoor testing. You're right the drive would suck for the west coast guys, for east coast guys it would be no different than a normal outdoor start. I would think getting anything going would be a positive at this point.
What ideas did you have or hear?

The possibility of virus transmission is only one consideration. Another is that motocross is a high risk activity - which we all know and accept - which means holding a motocross event will very likely result in situations requiring medical care. If the whole health care system is stretched to its limits, then that may not be the best idea.

Good lord, just writing that is throwing me into a bout of depression.

You're right, but we need some hope and something positive to look forward to.
The big rig drivers have likely polished out the rigs and would love to hit a road trip.

They have done a CA to NJ before which is a slightly longer drive. I believe it was 2015.

But we're talking across two different series here.

It would give the MXSports crew time to drive to Hangtown and set up.

I'd be very surprised if we see any racing before June. One positive is we will probably have a bunch of guys ready to go to MXdN this year if this is under control by then.

MXdN is likely being moved til late November. If that's the case, US likely will not send a team, as everyone will be full SX prep then.
