Seems like it's pretty well sorted out, but I'm about 30min outside of Auburn and would be happy to service the forks and shock at no cost if you provide parts. I've been doing it for riding buds for years.

Just sent you an email OP, I might have something he could use. I sent it to the email that you put up for your PayPal. We should make a list of what people have ordered that way we aren't sending him 10 pairs of grips or something Laughing

Edit: Saw the list on page 1

Thanks Slipdog, Sparker245, and Mag23. Good on ya!

This kid's had a tough go - his Mom committed suicide when he was 10 and his Dad's not really in his life. He's living with his grandparents now since they are the only stable people he has.

If anyone else wants to kick in some $$$, I'm happy to collect and have Slipdog go through the bike and make sure it's safe and reliable for the boy. Give him a Christmas to remember thanks to Vital MX. There's a lot of good people on here.

PayPal me at mike@hamershock.net. Every dime will go towards this boy.

Is the Paypal email have only 1 "m" in hamershock since your vital name has 2 m's?

Correct. 1 "m" in my last name. It gets spelled wrong all the time. Wink

Working with my cousin who is a dealer for some different companies to drop ship some stuff to him. I'll let you know details when I know what he comes up with.

(For the record I've been on this site for years just to keep up with what's going on; been involved with the sport for 40 years. I just finally setup a new account in 2019 hah. This awesome gesture from Hammer popped my posting cherry, and I'm glad to do it in a drama free positive thread!).

Do you have details on the year/model etc (R or Expert)? Trying to send a chain and sprocket set and just want to make sure.

Thanks!

I'll get a year of the CRF. I think it's an older one. I'll try to get a couple photos so we know what it looks like and might need.

Does he need handlebars? I honestly done know if they are a different width, but I have some almost brand new Renthal Fathers that I would happily send your way for him.

I'd expect handlebars are original 07 CRF bars. They can always be cut narrower, but the fatbars usually need different mounts and I'm not sure you can get them for a bike this old.

Mike,
I live East of Sacramento. If getting out riding is tough for the kid, I'd be happy to have him join our family when going to Foresthill or other tracks / OHV's. Could use my donation ($100) for riding lessons too.

If they take a standard post like a full size CRF I have some Neken mounts that would work too. Would just need to reuse the rubber dampers

Looks like that year the top triple clamp and bar mounts are all one piece so won't accept other size bars or even mounts.

Good stuff man. Nothing makes my day like seeing people come together to help out a kid. It's a gift in itself to be able to touch someone's emotions in such a positive way. What a great day.

PM me some contact info and I will get it to his family. Once the bike is fixed up he would love that. Plus with all the $$$ coming in he will have a little cash for gate fees.

It might be hard to coordinate, but if we can get him to Hangtown 2021, Max Vohland just said he would walk him through the KTM truck. I'll get your contact from Slipdog, and send you a text.

Ok, I will see if I or anyone of my Moto friends has some 7/8's that we can hook him up with.

Honestly I think that I needed this thread in 2020. Its been a rough year for everyone
