This one's probably my favorite. Racing at Mosier Valley in the summer of '83 after being off the bike about a year. I had totally mismatched clothes. Even my gloves didn't match. It was too hot to run my full face Bell Moto III, but luckily I got good starts that day so I didn't lose any teeth.

I don't have my most favorite picture of me scanned in, but this one is in the top five. This was taken in the Fall of 2007 at Eagles Roost MX Park which was formally Possum Hollow. I love riding at this track since I raced at it so much in the 80's.

Yeah, me too. I was nine years old when my dad got his '82 RM250. I wanted an RM80 but settled for a used '79 RM60 and split my head open on it the first day. Only rode it one more time, and I remember I did a couple of laps around this field and said "Do I have to ride anymore?". My mom said "No." and I didnt touch a bike for 2 more years.

But I still love those '82 RMs.

Thanks Lee. Those were the glory days when Mosier filled the Intermediate and expert gates at every regular weekend race. Nowadays, it's unusual to see full gates unless it's a national.

My racing buddy, Roger Barton, also ran the open face helmet that day. Note the state of the art, forward falling gate.

Yeah, that '82 RM125 was one of my all time favorite bikes even though I was way too big for it.

I always post this one, it's from a track called Lake Martin MX that was only around for one summer. It was huge with long straights and sawdust berms. 1978 YZ100.

July 1985, just finished my 2nd race ever, got 6th out of 6 in 80 beginner. I wonder what ever happened to that gear? Cant imagine that anyone would have ever thrown it away, but I guess someone did.

Oh and I have cooler looking photos, but this thing is where it started for me baby.
