A cool look at McGrath's house...

Edited Date/Time 8/17/2013 1:05pm
I found this on my Facebook. They did a Cribs style episode with McGrath's house. As you would guess he has a really nice house and they show a ton of his old gear and cool stuff.

Yea, that's what I was hoping he would mention the whole time. Last I heard they had found a match but haven't heard anything after that.

Interesting that he won 3 championships on Yamaha, yet I didn't see any on display. Also interesting that If I remember right, when I saw a similar story about RC's house there was no Honda mounted on the wall of his entry way. Looks like all the former factory CRs are at Mc's place. Things that make you go hmmmmm...

I was a huge MC fan back in the day, wow, he did well for himself. Great vid, thanks for sharing.

MC did quite well for himself! It's sad when you hear about all the riders in history that made good money and then blew it faster than they could make it. Now they have to go work a 9-5 job just to make ends meet. Obviously MC made a lot....be he was extremely smart with his money.

i think it has to do with how he was raised..i read his biography and he comes from a pretty modest background and had real jobs before he was "the king".

whats so crazy about his career is that he didnt even start riding moto until he was 14 or 15!!

you need to stop racing bikes they said, it'll never get you anywhere they said

it seems the 'showtime' apple doesn't fall far from the tree haha

If that place caught on fire I would save, in this order
1. Human/animal occupants
2. HELMETS
3. HELMETS
4. HELMETS
5. Any gear I could quickly grab.

I'd love to have a copy of that photo.

All of the memorabilia brought back memories. It's beyond cool that he has all of his signature gear and helmets throughout the years. 1996 was one of the most dominant seasons ever even though he came up a little short on the outdoor title.

Yeah, but just think how many times he would have lapped everyone in 1971....Smile

Glad to see that some of these guys made it out intact and financially secure. That house is a definite showplace! His collection of old race bikes says a lot about him and what the sport really meant. Like he said, without all of this, there would be no big house. The helmet collection is the absolute shit though, damn amazing. The tassle helmet that I thought was ultra gay at the time is even starting to look less gay over time....Laughing That fits in the category of Glovers pink gear, meaning you better win to be wearing that stuff. Any less of a rider never could have pulled something like that off. Who wouldn't want that in their collection of all things moto?

Oh, and that's not a 79 RM80....

72 wins is such a big number. A freak of nature will be the next guy to top that record.

Nice. I read his biography book awhile back as well. Seems like such a cool guy to hang with. Party at the King's house! MC was the person that kept me interested in moto when I was younger. Definitely help feed my appetite for all things moto!

Yeah, MC's been very smart with his money. A close friend from childhood til now told me that he is very talented in knowing what to invest in and what to stay away from, and he's made tons on all but a very few things he's put his name on. The only real thing that ever tanked was a certain supercross team that he started with his (then) buddy...

I'd also really like to hear what the latest on his wife Kim's condition, although I saw some recent pics of her & she looked great and very happy. They both seem like really cool people.

He must still be doing just fine income wise. I can't imagine how much the taxes on that house must be.
