That thing is badass! I know next to nothing about vintage bikes, but that seems like a good price. I could be way off though...that bike is older than me, haha

I am guessing it has YZ85 front end, with the "honda patent avoiding HUGE Yamaha brake hose guide" on it.

Everything that clean is worth $850. Not that its worth more but I am surprised hes not asking more.

The only thing I'm wondering is, is the bike balanced right? Its kind of hard to tell with it being perched on that racoon cage whether the front of the bike is going to sit a bunch higher then the rear when its on the ground.

Works Replica, is that better? I thought it was a cool looking bike and it looks like a mini works bike. It has a few trick parts on it that were hand made. I guess if it's 100% hand made, then we can call it "works".

pegs are surely different!

silencer is cool

pipe is cool

if forks are well thought out, than they are cool too

That bike (or one just like it)has showed up before on the "Kick ass two strokes" thread p140 about half way down and bottom of the page. It has some pretty trick parts on it. According to the builder that KLP swingarm is about $900 by itself. The forks are off of an '03 cr 85. Dude built a nice cr125 too.

The swingarm cost what he's asking for the whole bike. Pretty trick little scoot.

Nope. Trying to remain strong here and "just say no". Laughing

Seriously trying to dwindle my collection of crap as it has really become a bit overwhelming. One day you wake up and realize you no longer own it, it owns you. Funny though when I start selling off stuff, people show up at my home and work and give me stuff. Complete bikes! I'm starting a resto project on a 74 TM125 project that someone dropped off when they were moving. A really nice bike, totally original and free. Going to end up with a couple grand in it probably by the time it looks brand spanking new again. After selling off all of my 73-74 CR250 Honda inventory, a buddy shows up and drops off a nice 74 CR250 rolling chassis. Totally restorable and I had kept a spare engine for my race bike. I know what I want to do, but that would end up costing five grand. LOL, decisions, decisions.

I think his secret is in that old 7.3 Ford PU he drives.

If he got a new truck AND rebuilt old bikes his wife might be like, "wow hun, you really like to spend the money huh?"
But instead Newman gives the illusion of sacrifice by driving an older rig thus justifying his bike rebuilding addiction.

He should be teaching marriage counseling down at the local community center for guys who have expensive hobbies.Tongue

And the old 7.3 is about to have a birthday. I've bought a few gifts for her as soon as she rolls 200,000. Best truck ever, and she rides rough enough and clatters enough to never let you forget she is a truck. Laughing

TP199 double backflip here!

That bike could be the same one that Sean Kalos rode in 1984. I remember seeing it at Loretta Lynn's in 1984. Everybody was really jealous but Eddie Hick's aluminum frame DMC YZ 80 was tricker. I think Scott Brown had a really trick CR80 back then too, none of them had upside down forks though.

A complete pile of garbage mid 90's RM anything will fetch $700 as long as it runs. But this CR is overpriced? LOL.

If it was closer I would have bought it just for that swingarm. I would love to have one of my two boys show up on the line with this bike.........

I had one of those. Kill switch wire and spark plug wire got tangled some how and caught fire. Went to kill the bike and the handlebars damn near electrocuted me to the point where I couldn't let go!

Look at that swingarm.......cool If that were in driving distance I'd pay that and never start it......just hang it up in my shop...... Sweet little scooter.....that swingarm gotta be worth the asking price to the right guy.......in 1984 that PSI pipe was THE Pipe to have, it was so thin that the 2 strokes had a real tinny sound to them. God I will never forget the sound of a properly tuned 1984 kx 125 ported with a PSI pipe. Sounded like none other. The problem was that having one didn't make any difference because EVERYONE on the line had a PSI cone pipe. I might actually start it just to hear that pipe sing again.........

Medford is 30 miles across the Oregon/California border on the 5 freeway.
