I dont get it, Mikey turns in a respectable 4-4 at Millville and hardly a peep is mentioned on the tube. I just rewatched the second moto and did not see once where they showed him and the KTM on the track. Whats up with that?

He seems to have carved out a 4th place niche for now. Hopefully he can start battling more with the leaders before the season is over.

He can say goodbye to that now. I doubt that niche will stay his with Canard jumping back in. But yes, Alessi seems to be the best of the rest for the time being.

Whats odd to me is just a couple years ago it would make a person laugh uncontrollably if someone said Chad Reed would be taking it to 800 in the outdoors. Yet this is exactly what is happening. In my opinion, Mike and his doc came up with plan for Mike to take it just a bit easy after banging his head alot this year. Mike came back at round 3 which he knew he was out of the hunt for the title so he is riding fast albeit cautiously. With his contract up this year I think Mike is looking at turning in a very solid season and not crash and jepordize his future both on the bike and in life.

Mike is riding great. Why 4th place does not get tv coverage is pathetic. Hard to "sell" the tv package to sponsors when they get nothing for their investment other than the top 3 positions.

I used to not be a fan of his - the way he's put his head down and continued to work hard has changed my mind, he's a good kid. I just hope his head is alright.

its been like that all the time.......
broadcast is lame, too much in it besides the actual race...!!!!!
all that hype around the top 3 and rockstar will only hurt the sport.....the other 37 that make it to the gate also need to show their supporters and should be deserving of it....... nailling a top10 should be a season saver for a lot of racers out there, but the way the broadcast treats the rest of the riders makes me wonder if they could put on a race with only those 3..????
sure the leaders deserve more share but all others need just a bit of it to stay alive, its harder and harder to get sponsor, and being treated that way is really helpfull.....!!!!!!!

4th is right about where he should be, which is damn good. The KTM ain't holding him back. Who is he going to beat on another brand of bike right now?

I cant say whether that KTM is holding him back, but I will say I was at Freestone when he was on the Zook and he checked out HUGE on the yellow bike. I mean, that bike was working for him and it showed !

But back to the point of the broadcast shutting him out, I really do think its BS. I think Mikey putting in Top-5 rides is great stuff and certainly newsworthy in light of some bad get-offs in the past.

Who decides what riders get air/camera time ?

I used to despise 800 being that I'm a huge Tedesco fan. However after watching "Inside the Outdoors" I've realized he's just a product of his environment. His father raised him to win at all costs. Since then I've started pulling for him a bit, especially when his dad started taking a back seat in his career. Now that Decoster is gone from Suzuki, I'd love to see 800 get another ride on yellow. He was the best he's ever been on that bike. So, I'm hoping if Dungey leaves, 800 can get his ride. I want to see him have another shot at a title and it just isn't going to happen on KTM.

I watched the races again last night and Mike got some decent airtime coverage during the first race.

With 10 races left to score points in, he could sneak into the top 5 with a little bit of luck.

I'll always remember two years ago at Freestone on Friday night. #800 had his dinner plate in hand going to sit down and eat. He took a few minutes and came over and talked to us.
