770 Days Since Last Race While Fighting Leukemia

770. That's how many days it's been since our son Ethan last raced due to his battle with Leukemia.

He has never complained or asked why. If fact, early on he said, "I'm glad this happened to me, and not to someone that couldn't handle it."

It hasn't been easy, but he has never given in or given up. He has inspired many including me.

Kinda ironic that he made his comeback in 102 degree heat on a gnarly track during Round 1 of the AMA District 20 Championship Series at Cycle Ranch near San Antonio.

I have been in the industry a long time and wear many hats at the track. It was so awesome to wear my "Moto Dad" hat again this weekend!

Tell that young man he is tough as nails - tough people do well in this world.

My then 4 year old son recovered from Stage 3 Lymphoma after two years back in the '90's, and I just got back into racing after being out after having a cancerous tumor the size of a baseball removed from my kidney.

Ethan is the MAN and an inspiration in the truest sense of the word. That has to feel so amazing for both of you. Cool Thank you for sharing and give Ethan our love!

This is so nice to see. Tell him i am very proud of him. Anyone who can go through this and come back like he did is an amazing human being. My son is also an AML survivor so I know what Ethan has been through and its a long hard road. Unfortunately the radiation, Chemo and a bone marrow transplant took to much of a toll on my son and he cant ride anymore.

Congratulations on the recovery of your wonderful son snd best wishes to all the cancer survivors in this thread.

I am just over 5 years since 2 surguries and 40 rounds of drug therapy.

Moto people can be tough, but don't discount getting help for the mental side of the process for all the family since in my experience cancer can impact in many ways

That's great news Zoom. My little brother fought Leukemia as well , through his last couple years in high school and into college. We had about 5 years of some scary stuff happen during that 5 years and we almost lost him. One of the scariest things was that it weakened his blood vessels , and he had one pop in his brain. He was out of his mind after that happened for a good few weeks. Like looney bin stuff. Some of my roughest years ever on this planet , was watching my little brother fight that disease. As of today......he's my best friend , and wouldn't know what to do without him. Glad to hear your boy is ok , and back out there doing what he loves.
