And here I am..upset at usps and customs ( not really, just impatient) because my alpinestars gear is taking over a week to get here! I couldn't imagine pre-ordering this stuff and it taking this long.

It does look badass though!

I've got some twelve year old Troy Lee gear that's still holding up well I could send you in the meantime.

He was right, you are wrong:

President and CEO of Fox Racing, Pete Fox recently talked with MXA regarding Stewart, and revealed a number of interesting facts.

It turns out that the truth behind Stewart’s leaving was his desire for a Supercross only contract. Fox is dedicated to the sport as a whole, and clearly does not approve of the Supercross only craze. Stewart, along with his move to the San Manuel Yamaha team, decided to make a monumental decision in not riding the Motocross series. Whether this decision was fueled by laziness, money, or just personal desire, I believe that it is the wrong decision. Clearly, Fox Racing agrees with me on this issue, and feels strongly enough to let James Stewart and possible hundreds of thousands of dollars slip from their grasp.

Since our beginning, Fox has been totally committed to motocross and Supercross. We feel strongly that our sport and Industry need both series to be healthy, and Fox will always support both series. That is where Fox’s priorities and path recently separated from James. We wish James luck with his Supercross career. Fox remains committed to the entire sport of both Supercross and motocross.

I am not a fan of the Fox brand, but good on them. The devil on my other shoulder is saying "WTF, if they are "sticking to their roots", why does every teenage girl have a pink Fox sticker on their car, they are selling way beyond just MX gear now?" I call BS on the story of them letting James go because of him not racing outdoors now that I think about it. You can't blame them for wanting to get wealthy, but Fox is the biggest defector of a pure MX gear company.

Took me a minute to figure out DTF. LMAO. Either way, a sure thing! I knew it was a bad idea when my wife got a tramp stamp. She labeled herself easy pickings for the rest of her life. If there is any saving grace in this, on the back of our SUV is an NRA sticker. On the back of our commuter is a Guns & Coffee sticker (and I am not a sticker guy).

Could be worse. Calvin stickers and Git R Done are my faves. Usually a Fox sticker accompanies one of those too. I will admit, when I was a kid, I did have a Bad Boy Club sticker in the back of my truck window... lol. I can't be the only one here.

That's what they said, but it's not the truth. They turned around and sponsored Josh Hill the very next season when he joined the San Manuel Yamaha (SX only) squad. So, they're actually just liars looking for an excuse.

That's very interesting, considering a few years ago someone at San Manuel told me exactly why James' contract was Supercross only.

I was told it was because James was signed to the team to give kids, particularly young Native Americans, a positive role model. You might be aware that these people have huge issues with alcoholism, etc. But they love dirt bikes and motocross.
This SM person told me that they wanted to reach inner-city and minority youth. So they didn't figure that traveling to distant tracks in the middle of nowhere would serve that purpose.

What gives this more credence is that James went back to the outdoors after leaving SM.
That's a long way from " laziness, money, or just personal desire."

James was signed to the team, a notorious SX only team (Chad Reed ring any bells?), not knowing that it was SX only?

har

give me a break, bro.

also, good on both James and Reed on going back outside. the SX only trend was a shitty period in moto history

Yeah, he knew it was SX-only. But it wasn't his decision, that was my point.

Especially in light of Fox saying it fired Stewart because it is imbued with the spirit and romance of "true motocross" and sacrificed hundreds of 1000s of $$$$ to maintain the sport's integrity.

don't get me wrong, i get that Fox said what they did and i don't agree with any of that.

but James not having a decision in signing a big contract with a SX only team is just silly

maybe my memory is fogged... but wasn't the JGR deal about the same thing? i know he did a couple outdoor races on the JGR yamaha, but it was basically a SX only deal too right? i know JGR wasn't a sx only team
