I'm not ashamed to say he looks pretty damn healthy for a 61 yr. old. Props to him.

I'm pushing 50 and I reckon there is no better exercise for me than MX (maybe one other thing).

After doing a couple of 30 minute moto's on a rough sand track I might be a bit sore for a couple of days but I feel great. Pumping iron or riding a bicycle just ain't the same.

He doesn't look older than 45-50. Good shape.

I play soccer with some 60+ dudes that can run circles around the young 'uns.

My old man is 62 and still racing. We ride together about once a week. I have to say he actually probably rides more than I do....plus he spent awhile in Florida this winter racing the GNCC and the Ahrma race at Gatorback.

He bought is last bike about 20 years ago. (so he said at the time) ......and has since been through probably 40 bikes since then. He says the only thing he regrets about retiring is that he didn't do it sooner.

He's a pic from Mid Ohio this year on his 83' YZ 250.

Yep.
Or being around my buds, like Jesse Gildea, who still race after being permanently injured. Takes nuts!

back in the late 80's, i once raced in the 25+ class against a guy who was 67. he got last but didn't get lapped and didn't get embarrassed. he put in a good, steady ride. i thought it was impressive and inspiring.

My dad is 60 and is still racing the Senior nov. class. We hit up REM occasionally now, although last summer we were racing every weekend up there. But his age isn't the coolest thing about him. He is always talked about at the track because he still rides a 2001 KX500! He refuses to give into the 4-strokes.
We are usually out at Pala or Cahuilla now-a-days, though he is waiting for the Elsinore GP to open registration.

Very cool--"I't ain't easy being an old mx'er these days".

As each yr passes I wonder how many more are left....

i met a vet rider this past weekend that gave me some insight on racing and life. he said to pull a tape measure out to 76 inches. that is the average life span of an american male. then put your finger on your age. seeing where you are puts a new meaning on living life to it's fullest. i'm 61 and i'm still living the dream. moto on boys. dbm

I raced a guy in the +30 B class at the winchester regional that was also 61... he was joking how the guys in that class are half his age. kinda puts things in a different perspective. Not the same guy though, so there was atleast 2 60+ year olds there.

I am 59 and still racing the 55+ classes. My goal is to ride the 60+ class at one of the RacerX Vet Series next year. Hell i feel better now that i did at 40. Still got all my hair and still dark. I try to practice once a week but exercise is a bummer tho.
Highsider how older are you now? I raced at your place many years ago and beat a few of your buds. Raced Bob many times at Kahoka.
Tough times was when I had young kids to raise and they took all my money.
Keep on Motoing. U can do It.

I couldn't find a picture of him on his bike, but this is Bob. He is almost in his 80's I believe, and he races almost every weekend at Albany.

That's Nolan Buyer on the left, and he is pretty damn fast in the SuperMini class.

Btw he ended up finishing 17th over all at the New engand regionals out of 27 thats' pretty dam good and considering the first two moto days the track was horrible for the 40+ guys first day was race 24 the second day was the last race of the day. I'm sure you can imagine what that track looked like at the last race of the day. They had over 1100 entrys it was the most brutil thing i ever seen lol!! He was consistent all three motos, Good for him..

I'm 56 yrs. young. raced a lot in the 70's and 80's. I still ride but it's on the street w/my harley. I really miss racing. I'd love to get back into it again but I don't like 4 strks. I guess to ride or race these day's (esp. race) it has to be a 4 strk. or can you race a 2 strk. in the vet classes. let me know. somebody.
