The Shop
Didn't say above, but I assume they were all still crated. But, you would still need a lot of trailer space to get away with 57 units. Crazy.
How long would it take to steal 57 bikes?
Stealing a container would only take 5 mins with an experienced driver with a side loading trailer.
I wouldn't be surprised if most of those bikes are already on a boat leaving the port.
Pit Row
This is going to directly affect my paycheque, I had deposits on 4 KTMs, I wonder how many I’ll have to refund. Fucking thieves, I hope they all rot in cells.
I wonder if it was a Container with the bikes in it, that was snaffled?
However it was done, it sucks.
A fair few years ago, Yamaha OZ had a break in, and 20 / 30+ bikes got lifted.
It created quite a rift with one of my relos, as I am pretty sure they bought one of the YZ250 that was taken. Just after the theft, he was boasting of getting a YZ for peanuts.
I told him it was almost certainly stolen, and, if I ever saw it, I'd be taking down the engine and chassis numbers and handing them to my mates at Yamaha, and the Police. Said relo was / is a F**kwit, of epic proportions, our one true Black Sheep of a honest, hard working clan, so f**k 'family ties'.
He took it away to a distant place (after he said he had it at my property in the west of our state - he got there before me and took it away after I'd ripped into him) , says he still has it (but is that piss poor a rider it intimidates him) , and I still tell him I'll hang him out to dry if I ever get near it. He's one of those people my 'primitive' side comes out on, and I've snotted the prick many times over the years. He is Absolute Scum.
Here's a story that relates. Back in the early 2000's I worked for a weathly entrepreneur. Roughly $750,000,00 was nicked from his office one night. He was smart. The next day we (all staff) stood lined up waiting for a run on a polygraph test. It wasn't long before this chick in the line broke down in tears...she was the owners wife's sister.
She quicky confessed that her boyfriend took the loot. He also worked for the company but had called in sick that morning.
The culprit went on a few days binge (crack) before they picked him up and had already blown a fair chunk of cash.
The owner who is still a great friend of mine to this day dropped charges but not before he beat the living crap out of the thief.
Back to the stollen bikes. Based on the vast quantity of bikes stolen I reckon this with be a short investigation before being resolved.
