It's also about €40 cheaper than it is to see a GP in Europe

I paid €65,- for Valkenswaard which is roughly $71.

When I looked at getting tickets for Charlotte I saw the same price and almost fell out of my chair. Don't know that I want to spend that money to watch them race on an old flat, narrow dirt track.

In Europe you pay even more to watch the GP's. But it's two full days of racing instead of just one at a national. And you get to see a few support classes.

Attending a GP in the US is great experience. Don't let a few dollars get in the way. The US teams assist with the GP riders with their rigs making it a really cool atmosphere. There was very poor attendance in 2010, but the race was run when the US season had just started, so none of the factories wanted to risk their National mx riders getting injured. Really should be more exciting with more entries with the US season having already ended this year. One thing about the poor attendance is you didn't wait in line for anything and you could move around the track with ease and be right up front everywhere. Glen Helen is a great place to watch a race. Get your walking shoes on and head up some of the hills. Great views and unbelievable action watching these racers attack those giant hills going up and down.
Moto on!

I just looked for tickets for the Swiss GP next week.
It is somewhat around $70 for the weekend and $60 for sunday only.
Been at the MXGP of Arco di Trento this year too, and paid something around $60 for sunday only too.

So you guys over there get to see it way too cheap ... WinkTongue

If any of you really knew the cost of putting on a National or GP it would shock you. You can guess but it's way more than what people guess. It's not Disneyland so you can't compare it, it's motocross racing at the level where it started. Some of the tracks cost besides paying MX Sports or YouthStream there is a fee to get AMA and FIM there. Equipment rentals, fuel, the people making track magic, fencing, sound equipment and set up cost. Law Enforcement for safety on the road and at the track. And the staff cost for all the work they do. Every promoter wishes cost were less but they do it for you. Not all or any of them get rich from one race or many races. They try and keep the cost down but pay their bill. Please go and enjoy. A 2 or 3 day pass is well worth it.

Is the emx125 class going to be there?
7/27/2016 9:05am
I think Glen Helen would lower the MXGP ticket prices if more people would attend. Unfortunately US fans don't turn out in numbers like they do for an AMA National. More of the hard core Moto people. I kinda like the lower crowds, trick MXGP bikes and the riders. I just hope Herlings can recover in time this year.

I've been to every Glen Helen national and to both of the GP's there. I don't know the actual turn out #'s, but it sure is a nice mellow crowd at the GP's. Easy to get around and a whole different vibe. I like it !!

$53.00 is chump change for being able to watch the race, IMO.

Agree, also the pits are open all day and many teams give out cool swag.
Got a Tim Gajser #1 tee last year.

Only downside was the heat..so hoping for cooler temp this year.

$53 is a bargan..
the only problem is the wheather..in sept it could be nasty.
this @ my place 2 weeks ago..

if it only could be like the old trans am series and held it in the fall...I'd pay $100 to watch

Strange that, over here in OZ the mx season is primarily run in the cooler months and the sx is run over summer.

Mind you our championship rounds are only 6 off each mx and sx.
