On a positive, this Could be a good thing for AC9 and any other riders who need time to heal!
Hectic!
That'd certainly test endurance levels and throw a few variables.
Could be a complete shit show too.
Bring it on!
Season is probably over.

More ups than downs for me. Big queries are how do riders train? Where will everyone stay?
Depending on what the circumstances are they ‘could’ let fans pay at the gate. Think about it, you are a fan and get the opportunity to go watch intense racing over 2 weeks, sounds like a good holiday to me.
Its 100% Roczen and he is 100% in the right mind to not go. Vegas isn't any safe than other cities, its just that it depends on tourism to exist so will do anything for cash as has been hinted on Pulp shows also.
Also Roczen or Eli are the only riders that have the clout in the series to stop it running plus Roczen has already talked about his affected immune system....
Just so fans can have some results?
Not going to happen for SX, basketball, hockey or any sport we enjoy.
If they can't pack the stadium or make money on the whole thing, they won't do it.
And really, can you blame them?
Not necessarily
Monster isn't going to pay Feld, Kawasaki, Yamaha, PC or Tedder for a full season for half a season
Geico isn't going to pay the team a full season for half a season
WPS/Fly isn't going to pay TPJ, RMATVMC Team, and all the others for a full season for half a season
It's more about saving the teams and sport financially by completing all the races and getting them on TV
If no other live sports are going on, this could be a massive boost for SX, just like the 1979 Daytona 500, where the nation was snowed in, many events cancelled, and there was nothing on TV but Daytona, so everyone tuned in, and it happened to be an exciting ending that also has a fist fight between Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison
Not that we need fist fights, but an exciting ending in front of a house-bound audience could be a huge boost
I just don't see it happening unless there is money to be made.
What does each one of these teams spend to go to a race?
And if an empty stadium but televised scenario were viable, how much of the profits from commercials etc. would the network need to share, in order for the teams to do it?
Of course I really don't know how teams determine profitable from non-profitable. It could be simpler than I think or even more complicated.
And how many motorcycles do you think are going to be sold in the next 3-4 weeks? There are bound to be some places where bike shops just close the doors for a while.
Who pays for what, will be a long lasting legacy of the coronavirus. I imagine it'll take years & many many lawsuits to get that all figured out.
So the titles will go to:
- TOMAC
- SEXTON
- FERRANDIS
Honestly regarding to theirs seasons this three deserves it and it’s not an hold-up so i am fine with it
But if teams die, and riders have to get jobby-jobs in order to live, that'll effect their show in 2021 and beyond, not to mention the additional millions Feld will lose in lost sponsorship money.
It is in Feld's and everyone else's best interest to put on the shows, one way or another, and that IS THE PLAN as of now.
You can be negative and poo-poo it all you want, but that IS the plan
How, where and when, is the question.
Latest idea seems to be run the balance after the Outdoors in a fast paced few weeks, maybe running up to the MEC
Likely the MXdN will be cancelled, or we'll skip it with other Nation's, because the MXGP is going to have a ton of races to make up in their schedule.
Anyone who insists on being negative, knock yourself out, but those who know, know they're all trying to put a plan together, but that can't be done until the governments have a handle on this thing and know when we're on the backside
But you go ahead and tell me I'm wrong, because you're the expert
If it’s not written, which is probably the case, who is making that call? Feld? The AMA? The FIM?
The accountants that are dealing with lawyers of sponsors?
Who’s making the rules?
Pit Row
If they simply loose less money by racing, that could be the answer.
As I said, I want them to race.
I just don't blame them if it doesn't make sense To race.
And of course somebody is scrambling to put a plan together to limit the damage. Hope it works - Life is way more interesting with SX than without!
But there are lots of unknowns and variables that would make this a job that few would want.
And with some states banning gatherings of 50 or more ........... I would love to watch SX
...... Monster Cup .... maybe
Hope they figure it out. the US Gov is ready to throw lots of money at industries damaged by this world wide pandemic
But this is a misreading of the situation. We are at the very beginning of this outbreak - not the middle, not near the end.
It’s also delusional to suggest that supercross will be able to do what is needed to stage an event when you look at the steps that are being taken in much larger and vital parts of the economy.
Supercross 2020 is finished.
Maybe your crystal ball is better than anybody else. Hope not, but these next few weeks will be interesting, if at a much slower pace.
It's hard to know how much weight to put on information from other countries. Will results in the USA be the same as in Iran or China or Italy?
I do know that, outside of Washington state (which I view as being much the same as other countries), there have still only been about 28 deaths, in the USA.
Yes, that # will go up. The question remains, where will it end?
If they want to settle it, that's the only thing that really makes any sense, and even that is just relatively speaking compared to holding anything in a stadium.
Otherwise just call the series where it stands and let the riders focus on their families and what's next.
Not just for "at the track"; but, for during the week(s) that all this "Vegas Racing" is going on. I'm guessing a lot of riders will need to become "west coast based" during this time...and then there's the current discussion about banning domestic commercial air travel...so...
Many riders are east-coast based this time of year. Also, if you're interested in a full gate, you're gonna need some privateers. You're gonna be combing both coasts/having races for both regions for the 250s...I'm assuming.
Now, you're getting waaaaaaay above the 25-50 person per gathering numbers that we're being given from the various gov't entities (Boston just cut it down to 25...that'll migrate to other jurisdictions).
EI Dave is on to a really good point, tho...we'd have one helluva audience...if we get to do it.
Post a reply to: 5 rounds Vegas over 2 weeks no fans.
