Round 5 of the season. A new track lay-out has been announced. A lot of wildcards in MX2, mostly guys from EMX250 as they have a free weekend.

Additional classes are EMX125 and EMXOpen, both will race their second round of the season.

I doubt it. I think the lay-out will stay the same, but they'll race clockwise instead of counter clockwise.

3 years to the day that I was last at the Trentino GP. Can't wait to be back there again this weekend, one of my favourite GPs to go to!

I watched a Gopro of the new layout a couple of weeks ago. As DeStouwer said, mostly the same layout but in reverse with all new jumps - will be interesting to see how it pans out! I'm all for change though especially after they had so many on the same track at the end of the year.

Almost full MX2/MXGP entries too which is good to see!

68 in EMX Open : good to see, though, I'd like to see a few of those blokes having not given up on the MXGP class .
But, a few hundred Euros entry as against, what, 1K plus ? - I can see that being the major issue there.

90/91(My eyes are a bit wonky this week) in EMX125. It's going to be a Big ask to qualify. Lotte van Drunen is in among the entry, too. I hope she gets into the Motos.

Yes, just like EMX250 with regards to MX2, EMX Open has riders that could be in MXGP.

But, the huge difference in entry fees, is a hell of a discouragement. especially when you run your own team, as I think Butron does nowadays.

I'd say a fair few of those 68 EMX Open entrants, would like to be in MXGP, if it were affordable and, as in decades ago, they were able to get start / a bit of prize money.

I'd like to see the camera crew listen to Malin about 'windscreen wipes'............. it's about the only whinge I had about MXGP coverage - when it rains, they don't seem to give a flying f**k about the water on the cameras.

Middle-european update:
Kohut riding sensationally after returning from retirement in 2021 - his main bike is still 250... so not too shabby
Jost waking up a bit but too late for any serious title chances
Drdaj having shitty starts as usual but not having strong second half of race which is worrisome
Mnuk doing great for never being considered top czech guy nearly scoring EMX point is surprising
Krc DNF hopefully nothing big
Pergel got good start but faded
Szvoboda getting back in action. It takes some time getting use to it.

On the size - Malin said it was a 250. I wonder what the capacity rules are in EMX Open. They've got it right in EMX250, with no BS Handicap ruling, so I hope(d) that it would be 'right' in the Open class.

Buggered if I can tell if Staufer is on a '23 TBI - my eyes are just too bloody fuzzy after a procedure last week.

Butron made a good push through the field, after that 1st turn prang. 40 riders with a straight and 180 turn that so resembles an SX one, makes for cramped quarters. But, all things considered, the track works well in reverse, with the changes they've made

Yep, he's had a real rough go of it with his injury. Took forever to heal and he's still dealing with pain and lack of motion (that he'll always be dealing with)
